The Utah/Idaho Performing Arts Company will be holding auditions for 'The Taming of the Shrew' on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 1:00-6:00pm at Draper Historic Theatre, 12366 South 900 East, Draper, UT 84020.  Callbacks are Tuesday, January 17 from 6:00-10:00pm.  Jesse Peery will be directing.  The production will run May 4-12, 2012.  Rehearsals will begin March 19.

Those wishing to audition must call UNIPAC at 801-842-6292 to schedule an audition time.  Actors of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition.  We are looking for women ages 20-50 and men ages 20-65 for these roles.  At this time there are no paid positions.

Kate – female. Age 25-35.
Petruchio – male. Age 30-40.
Bianca – female. Age 20-25.
Lucentio – male. Age 20-25.
Tranio – male. Age 20 -30.
Hortensio – male. Age 30-40.
Grumio – male. Age 25-50. Preferably of a shorter height.
Baptista – male. Age 50-65.
Gremio – male. Age 45-65.
Vincentio – male. Age 40-60.
Pedant – male. Age 40-60.
Curtis – male. Age 18-25.
Tailor / Widow – either gender. Age 30-50. Both roles will be assigned the same actor.  If you’re male, please come prepared to read the widow as a convincing woman.  Auditioning in drag is encouraged, but not required.
