Open Casting Call for "Cruces"
November 10th- Thursday- 5PM-7PM
at Broadview University
240 East Morris Ave (around 2300 South), Salt Lake City, Utah 84115
If you fit the description of one of the characters below, please email me and I will send you sides. Otherwise, sides will be provided at the audition. aline_c_andrade@yahoo.com
Headshot and Resume are great. But we will take your picture in case you don't have one.
THIS is a NON-PAYING gig. We will feed you well and give you a copy of the DVD for your reel. Very good production value.
Shooting dates are November 19-20-21/ December 2-3-4. LIAM GARCIA will be needed on all or most of those days. Other characters are secondary and will have 1 to 3 days of shooting.
CRUCES CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
Ramon Muñoz: patriarchal and old fashioned; former drug lord in charge of all southwest of the States and half of Mexico. He is dying of cancer and wishes to be reunited with his car for sentimental reasons, for a last time before he passes on. Refuses to speak English. He has a painful, dark secret. In his late 70's.
Young Ramon Muñoz: 20/30—Adventurous and inconsequent. (Gael Garcia Bernal look alike if possible)
(Ideally: Looking for a 30/40 year old who can play Muñoz young and old with the help of our talented Make Up artist)
Esteban Muñoz: (20/30) Muñoz' younger son. Loyal and strong as a watch dog.
Anita Muñoz: (20/30) dark hair- Hispanic, beautiful and strong. Deeply in love with Muñoz.
Liam Garcia: Second generation Mexican American: 20's/30's. Struggling to make ends meet he "robs convenience stores when it's convenient" to get by but feels horrible about doing that. Small time criminal but continues to look for a job. Harmless and somewhat naïve. Pure Heart. Needs to pay rent before they are evicted and he is out of work (though his wife is unaware of that fact)— (We will take reads from American actors. Spanish would be nice but we can work around it.)
Willow Reese Garcia: (20-30) Caucasian, fair skin, beautiful, hard working wife. Loves Garcia and their child. She inspires Liam to keep moving in spite of their bad financial situation. Strong willed and independent.
Ava Garcia: (2 to 7)—no lines. Willow and Liam's daughter.
Landon Langley: (Mystery driver and thug who drives after Garcia) (20-3040) Professional assassin. Robs antiques as a hobby. Ruthless and mean. Feels no remorse. No lines.
Lima: Always off screen—Hispanic accent (if possible)
Convenience store clerk: (guy or girl) one line/ off beat comedic scene.
Nurse—young Hispanic girl--maybe
