The Black Box Theater is hosting auditions for its February production of Blind Date. Blind Date, written by locals Horton Foote along with J. Scott Bronson, Eric Samuelson and Melissa Larson, is a compilation of four plays about funny and romantic dating stories.

Auditions will take place Saturday between 1-4 PM and Monday between 4-6 PM. All those auditioning should come prepared to cold read from the scripts or perform a short, contemporary, comedic monologue. One male and one female, ages 18 – 25 and one male and one female ages, 35 – 35 needed. Actors will receive a stipend for this production. Rehearsals will be held at the Covey Center in the evenings during the week and possibly on Saturday mornings. Performances will be February 3, 4, 9-11, 14, 16-18, 2012.

Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, directed and produced by Mark Fossen, will be holding auditions for its March production. Actors will have 3-5 minute time slots and should select a monologue from classical literature, such as: Shakespeare, George Bernard Shaw, Greek Drama, or a segment from The Crucible. Memorization is strongly encouraged, but not necessary. The production will be looking for women ages 10-60 and males ages 26-60 of all ethnic backgrounds. Rehearsals will begin January 23 with the production running March 8-24, 2012.
