Auditions for the Vagina and Wyoming Monologues will be Nov. 16-17, at the University of Wyoming and the Albany County Public Library.
The first auditions are from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the studio theatre on the second floor of the Fine Arts building. The following night the Wyoming auditions, also from 5:30-8 p.m., will be in the Albany County Public Library. Those auditions are open to the public.
The Vagina Monologues, an episodic play written by Eve Ensler, will be directed by Cecelia "CiCi" Aragon, UW theater and dance assistant professor. The Wyoming Monologues is a staged reading featuring local Wyoming voices writing about GLBTQ/body/sexuality topics.
Aragon says Wyoming Monologues submissions will be accepted until noon Monday, Nov. 14. Stories can be sent to Bonnie Zare, UW women's studies professor, at wyomonologues@yahoo.com .
Possible topics include strange first dates, sexual self-discovery, seeing oneself in the mirror and "my so-called fabulous GLBTQ life," Aragon says. She says participants also can add their own stories.
The Women's Action Network, UW Department of Theatre and Dance and KOCA 93.5 La Radio Montanesa sponsor the event.
