Auditions Will Be Held

Thursday November 30th @ 6:00pm

Sign-up on the call board outside Snow 126. 

 

Callbacks Will Be Held

Saturday December 1st @ 10:00am

Rehearsals Begin Tues. Dec. 4th

The Story

Prospero is usurped from his position as Duke of Milan and cast away with his daughter to a remote island. Twelve years later, and intent on revenge, he raises a magical tempest that shipwrecks his enemies on his shores. What begins as a search for retribution develops into a journey of acceptance and compassion in Shakespeare's final play.


The Characters

Prospero:                  The Right Duke of Milan

Alonso:                      King of Naples

Sebastian:                  Brother to Alonso

Antonio:                    Prospero's Brother, the Usurping Duke of Milan

Ferdinand:                Son of Alonso

Miranda:                   Daughter of Prospero

Gonzalo:                    An Honest Old Counsellor

Caliban:                     A Savage and Deformed Slave

Ariel:                          An Airy Spirit

Trinculo:                   A Jester

Stephano:                 A Drunken Butler

Master:                     Master of the Ship

Boastwain:               Boastwain of the Ship


Special Notice

Please be aware that I will be casting 4 to 5 women to perform the role of Ariel. All 4 or 5 will perform together each night to make up that character. It is also possible I may cast the role of Trinculo, Alonso, Sebastian, and Antonio as women as well. This will be determined through the casting process.

What To Prepare

Please prepare a 30 to 60 second monologue from one of Shakespeare's late romance plays. This would mean, A Winter's Tale, Cymbeline, Pericles, The Two Noble Kinsmen, or The Tempest. A verse monologue is preferred but not required.
