Apple Casting is casting The Warrior and the Savior, a feature film about
two South African children orphaned by AIDS, who try to make a fresh start in
the United States, but their struggles are far from over.
Salvatore Sorrentino, dir. Shooting Apr.-May 2011 in South Africa and New
York, NY.
Seeking—
Seeking—
Yera: male, 11-13, African-American, South African accent if
possible or good with accents, beautiful face, good facial expressions, thin,
must be comfortable with physical acting (running, fighting, etc.), LEAD;
Sela: girl, 8-10, African-American, South African accent if
possible or good with accents, beautiful face, smart looking, good with facial
expressions, thin, LEAD;
Craig: male, 13-15, Caucasian, shaved/short hair, rebel type;
Mickey: male, 45-50, Caucasian, muscular build, strong appearance,
medium height, short hair, should have some Irish features (i.e. red hair, green
eyes, etc.);
Smiley: male, 50-55, Caucasian, chubby build, tall, menacing
appearance, short hair, greasy looking;
Chester: male, 60-65, Indian, slightly frail appearance, medium
height, should have an Indian look and be able to take on the accent of an
Indian immigrant, clean cut appearance.
Note:
Year & Sela must be able to travel to South Africa; 1 parent will be allowed
to accompany each actor.
Pay
is $200/day, plus credit, meals, travel & lodging
provided.
