To schedule an audition appt., email info@theatreaspen.org or call Peggy at (970) 925-9313. Note: Scheduling conflicts will be accommodated.
Prepare a selection from "Les Miserables" that shows off legit range. For "Charlie Brown" prepare a comic song showing range and for "Fully Committed" prepare a scene from the play (provided upon request) or comic monologue that includes multiple characters. An accompanist will be provided. Bring pix & résumés. Casting Note: Anyone auditioning for "Les Miserables" who is not a child should either sing a selection from "Les Miz" that is sung by the character they hope to portray, or if auditioning for ensemble sing a short song from the show, or in the style of the show, that clearly demonstrates a wide range, and a powerful instrument. No contemporary pop songs, no Rogers and Hammerstein, Rogers and Hart, Lerner and Lowe etc, and no "comic" songs (unless auditioning for Thenardiers...in which case will still need a big showy vocal song as well since they'll double as ensemble throughout). All songs should be from the contemporary "pop opera" musical theatre canon..."Les Miz," "Phantom," "Aspects of Love," "Miss Saigon," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Little Women," etc. The emphasis needs to be on presenting their selection with clear, bold acting choices and powerful vocals.
