Idaho-30 actors needed all ages

Nampa Children's Theatre and the Pix Foundation is announcing auditions for our April musical production of The Secret Garden. Saturday, January 26th at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 8 South Midland Blvd in Nampa. Check in begins at 8:30 am. For more information and to obtain an application packet, please visit our website at http://nampachildrenstheatre.org . Applications returned by January 23rd will be given time slot preference. We will be casting approximately 30 actors. We need a 8 core cast members with STRONG vocal and projection skills. We also have roles for vocal and dance ensemble.
What secrets lie behind the doors at Misselthwaite Manor? Recently arrived at her uncle's estate, orphaned Mary Lennox is spoiled, sickly, and certain she won't enjoy living there. Then she discovers the arched doorway into an overgrown garden, shut up since the death of her aunt ten years earlier. Mary soon begins transforming it into a thing of beauty--unaware that she is changing too. But Misselthwaite hides another secret, as Mary discovers one night. High in a dark room, away from the rest of the house, lays her young cousin, Colin, who believes he is an incurable invalid, destined to die young. His tantrums are so frightful, no one can reason with him. If only, Mary hopes, she can get Colin to love the secret garden as much as she does, its magic will work wonders on him.
The Secret Garden is a story about the true power of love; of how love allows for all things to grow, heal and flourish. It is a story of how love and nurturing brings even weak, neglected, damaged, perished things back to life, whether it be a garden or a child. The simple act of love of 3 children transforms their lives both emotionally and physically.
Nampa Children's Theatre (NCT)is a subsidiary of the Pix Foundation and is a 501(c)3 Foundation. NCT is an opportunity for local youth to not only take part in a production, but to grow in theatre as we hold workshops for our cast members to focus on the various elements of theatre. We provide a positive environment for young actors to become part of our theatre family. NCT chooses productions based on musicals and plays with a stong moral lesson our young actors and audience can learn and practice in their own lives as they grow.
