Auditions for Night of January 16th
A murder mystery by Ayn Rand as adapted by Nathaniel Edward Reeid and directed by Lance Taylor.
Run Dates: May 30, 31, Jun. 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, and 14, 2014.
Audition Dates: April 5 and 6.
Director’s note: SCT will be producing the “edited” version of this script which is different from any version posted on some internet sites. This version is lighter & more comedic than the original script. Most roles are non-gender and/or non-age specific.
Non-gender/non-age specific roles: 2 lead; 5 support
Male: 4 support roles
Females: 2 lead roles ages 20-35; 3 support roles. One role is an ethnic minority character, specifically an African-American woman.
To the world, Bjorn Faulkner was a startlingly successful international tycoon, head of a vast financial empire. To his beautiful secretary-mistress, he was a god-like hero to be served with her mind, soul … and body. To his aristocratic young wife, he was a force of nature to be tamed and possessed. To his millionaire father-in-law, he was a giant who committed the ultimate sin in the business world – he failed. And now he is dead. Victim of his own suicide or murdered by his jilted lover? In this interactive murder-mystery, our audience becomes the jury to decide the fate of the accused.
