Audition for Spotlight
Theatre's
HAIRSPRAY
If you've got
talent, put it in the Spotlight! Our second big Broadway-sized production,
Hairspray, makes its debut April 14th through 23rd
2011. This is a culturally diverse show. We are looking
for talented performers of every age, shape, size
and color.
When?
When?
- Friday, January 7th, 3 to 9:30pm
- Saturday, January 8th, 7am to Noon & 1 to 3pm
Auditions will be held in 30 minute sessions and will
consist of 8 to 10 people
in each session.
You will need to schedule an appointment for your audition. Time slots will
fill up fast, so get yours as soon as possible by emailing spotlighttheatre@hotmail.com
Please include your contact information and preferred audition time (example:
morning, afternoon or evening)
Callbacks will be held on Sunday, January
8th, from
5 p.m. to 9pm.
Where?
All auditions will be held at the Columbia Performing Arts Center, located at Columbia High School, 301 South Happy Valley Road, Nampa, ID 83687. (From I-84, take Exit 38 for Garrity Boulevard. Head south toward Garrity, turn left at East Flamingo Avenue, then right onto North Happy Valley Road. Drive 2 miles to Columbia High.) Follow the signs and enter the Performing Arts Center through the double doors just to the left of the main building entrance.

What to Prepare?
- Come prepared to sing a song from any Broadway Musical (Your song should be similar in style to the music of Hairspray.) You must provide sheet music; an accompanist will be provided, or you may bring your own. No acappella or CD auditions, please.
- Come prepared to dance! Our choreographer will have a prepared dance number from the show that you will learn. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that will allow for movement.
- A headshot and resume.
- If you are chosen for callbacks, you'll be asked to participate in a cold reading from the script.
