OAKLEY • Oakley Valley Arts Council will hold auditions 7-9 p.m. Jan. 3 and 9 a.m.-noon Jan. 5 at Howells Opera House in Oakley for the spring production of “Arsenic and Old Lace,” directed by Joyce Merrill.

Come prepared to read from a provided script.

The production is set for March 7-9, 11, 14-16, 18 and 21-23.

The comedy has a possible cast of three women and 11 men. The storyline draws on charming and innocent ladies who populate their cellar with the remains of socially and religiously “acceptable” roomers, and the antics of their brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt.
