SEEKING:
10 Male actors singers who move well. Various ages. All must have great comic timing and a sense of the vaudeville style humor of the show.
2 Female actress singers who move well. Various ages. Must have great comic timing and a sense of the vaudeville style humor of the show.
6 Female dancers. Must be beautiful, youthful, and extremely strong dancers.
ALL ROLES AVAILABLE. No Equity contracts.
All actors will be paid a stipend of $150 for the production.

This is a Dance call – there is no need to call for appointment. Please be warmed up and ready to dance at 10am.
CALL BACKS
Sunday March 23rd 10am-4pm. Availability for callbacks is required. Not everyone will be needed for the whole time.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
FEMALE DANCERS:
Please arrive at the dance call warmed up and ready to dance. A combination from the show will be taught. Please wear clothing that shows off your body – nothing loose or baggy.
MALE AND FEMALE ACTOR/SINGERS:
Music-
Please Prepare 32 Bars of classic musical theatre style (no modern cabaret material). Bring sheet music in the correct key. Accompanist will be provided. No audition tracks or a cappella.

Style: Musical comedy farce full of lies, lust, and mayhem.
Acting-
Men auditioning for Pseudolus, Hysterium, and Lycus are asked to be prepared to tell a joke or brief comic story.
Everyone considered for a role will be asked to read from sides provided at the audition.

ROLES:
They style of the show is broad vaudeville-style physical comedy. All actors must have great comic timing and be comfortable with physical comedy. Males roles (Pseudolus, Senex, Hysterium, Erronius, Marcus Lycus) require a baritone with emphasis on diction and text.
HERO: Male late teens to 20s. A quirky love sick boy. Tenor.
PSEUDOLUS: Male 30s-50s. A slave. Broad vaudeville style comedian. Quick witted, scheming, a child-like spirit.
MILES GLORIOSUS: Male late 20s-40s. Handsome, masculine, muscular. The archetype of a braggart soldier. Requires a powerful, legit baritone.
HYSTERIUM: Male 30s-50s. Anxious, conservative, loyal. Broad physical comedian.
MARCUS LYCUS: Male 30s-50s. A procurer. Always out to make a profit. Broad physical comedian.
SENEX: Male 40s-60s. Hero’s father. Broad physical comedian.
ERRONIUS: Male 50s-80’s. An old man. Great sense of comic timing.
THE PROTEANS: 3 males 20-30s. Actors who play a multitude of parts throughout the show. They are clowns, dancers, and broad physical comedians.
DOMINA: Female 40s-60s The archetypal shrewish wife. Controlling demanding, and manipulative. Mezzo, character voice
PHILIA: Female late teens to 20s. Young, beautiful, devoted, simple. Lovely soprano with a virginal voice.
The Courtesans (Dancers) All could be teens to early 40s. All beautiful, sexy, and very strong dancers.
TINTINABULA: From the far east with the face of an idol, the arms of a willow tree, and the pelvis of a camel.
PANACEA: A face that holds a thousand promises, and a body that stands behind each one of them.
THE GEMINAE: 2 women - A matched pair. Each one a divinely assembled woman.
VIBRATA: Exotic as a desert bloom, lithe as a tigress.
GYMNASIA: Very tall, athletic, dominating.
The show will run Wednesdays thru Saturdays from July 9th – 26th.
Rehearsals will be weeknights and Saturdays from May 17th thru July 8th.
