P.S. Productions in conjunction with Super Summer Theatre, is pleased to announce auditions for its upcoming production of LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL, to be presented August 7 -- 24, at the Spring Mountain Ranch as part of the Super Summer Theatre 2013 season.
The international award-winning hit LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL is based upon the much-loved MGM megahit movie starring Reese Witherspoon and bestselling novel by Amanda Brown. Winner of 7 major awards including the coveted Best Musical 2011 (Olivier Awards) this all singing, all dancing romantic comedy is about knowing who you are and showing what you've got!
Elle Woods can handle anything. So when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her she decides to follow him to Harvard Law School and win him back. With some help from new-found friends Paulette, Emmett and her chihuahua Bruiser, she learns that it's so much better to be smart. AUDITION DATES & TIMES:
Auditions will be conducted with an Open Call beginning at the dates and times listed below. You need only to attend one of the auditions. The initial audition will consist of your vocal selection/or monologue and basic movement. If you are requested for callbacks, they will take place during the dates listed below.
SATURDAY, MAY 11 -- 12:00pm & 6:00pm
TUESDAY, MARCH 14 -- 7:00pm

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will begin June 3, 2013. Rehearsals are expected to be Monday through Friday in the evenings, but may change based on cast availability after casting has been completed. A schedule will be posted in advance.
PERFORMANCES:
LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL will perform for 13 performances (Wed -- Sat) during August 7 -- 24, 2013.

ALL ROLES ARE AVAILABLE:
Cast Size: Large Ensemble Cast (20+) - Many featured roles, Mainly Women, Star Vehicle -- Female, Strong/Large Chorus, Actors, Singers and Dancers.
Dance requirement: There are roles for Dancers and Non-Dancers (Musical Staging/ Dancing).
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

PREPARATION:
Please prepare 16-20 bars of an upbeat Broadway selection or from LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL or similarly styled pop/rock show. An accompanist will be provided, please bring sheet music in your key. A capella auditions are highly discouraged. Headshot and Resume are requested.
Non-singers -- Please prepare a contemporary comedic monologue of no longer than 90 seconds. We may have you perform simple vocal scales with the accompanist so that we can get an idea of your voice range (as it widens the number of parts you may be considered for). However, singing is not required.
