National Talent Search for Disney feature film 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green'


Disney is currently casting for the starring role of 'Timothy Green', a boy who is 9 - 12 years of age, and the co-starring role of 'Jodi', a girl who is between the ages of 12 - 14 years of age, for the live action fantasy feature film 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green.'

Disney President of Production Oren Aviv and Disney VP of Production LouAnne Brickhouse are overseeing the feature film, which is said to be a high priority for the studio.

'The Odd Life of Timothy Green' is based on an idea by Ahmet Zappa, who is an actor-writer-producer and son of the legendary musician Frank Zappa. Ahmet Zappa is a principal at Disney-based Monsterfoot Productions and also runs Kingdom Comics, the studio's graphic novel publishing unit. Zappa has a first-look deal at Disney, where he is producing the fantasy film 'The Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless,' based on his own novel, in addition to 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green.' Ahmet now has his own staff and offices where he develops story concepts based off the Disney library as well as scouts new talent.

Academy Award nominated writer/director Peter Hedges will direct the film. Hedges shared the Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay Oscar nomination with Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz for the film 'About a Boy.'

Disney is looking for two name stars to play 'Jim Green' and 'Cindy Green' the parents of Timothy Green, but is open to casting new faces to play the title role of Timothy Greenand the role of Joni.

Shooting on The Odd Life of Timothy Green is scheduled to begin shooting in Minnesota in October, 2010.

The casting directors for the Disney feature film 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green' are conducting a talent search for the following starring roles:

[Timothy Green] Male, 9-12 years of age. With longish hair and warm, curious eyes, he is somehow both innocent and wise. Happy to be here. Open to whatever comes next. Drumming is a plus. Any ethnicity.

[Jodi] Female, to play 12-14 years old. Striking, dressed mostly in black with black eye liner. Off-Kilter. Special, but maybe only Timothy sees it at first. Or maybe she’s the type of girl who is in charge without having to do anything. Any ethnicity.
