SAG Student Short

 

PENNY DREADFUL is a wonderful short being made by an NYU student in Utah this Fall. It will be made into a feature within the next two years. The writing is fabulous, and it is very funny, but a bit rough.

PRELIM CASTING:                                           Friday, June 10 (2:00pm- 3:00pm) and morning of Monday, June 13 (8:30am- 11:00am)

 

AUDITION LOCATION:                                   Sandy, Utah

 

SAG STUDENT CONTRACT. PAYMENT:         $100/day

 

Synopsis: Two bumbling would-be kidnappers abduct the wrong nine year old girl, which leads them on an interesting trek.

 

ALL ROLES ARE CAUCASIAN!

 

PENNY DREADFUL (LEAD) (referred to as “Little Girl” in script):  9 year old girl (will see 7-10).

Very funny with very dry delivery. MUST BE great actress. the lead girl – 9 years old – shoots someone in the head at point blank range. You will not see blood and gore – it is done in the context of the comedy.

 

DENNIS:  (LEAD): 30’s. A total idiot, but awkward.

 

HOLLY: (LEAD): 30’s. Fading beauty queen. Not sophisticated.

 

RANDY: 30’s. Redneck, would-be kidnapper.

 

HYRUM: 60’s. Lean, tough. Polygamist who owns a strip club. No emotion. Cold.

 

MR. ANDERSEN: 40’s. Small, wiry, nervous.
