CASTING SHORT FILM

We will be holding auditions for a short film called "Sight Unseen" on October 2nd and 3rd. This is an unpaid shoot, but we will reimburse for gas and will provide meals on set.

LOGLINE - Sophie, a young artist, struggles against her perfectionist technique to find the passion within herself and her art.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

YOUNG SOPHIE - 7-10 years old. Sophie is an outgoing young lady who is searching for her creative outlet. She wants recognition from her mother, and isn't afraid to go after what she wants. A very cute and fun personality. Will be needed for 2 days of filming, but will not be needed all day.

SOPHIE - Mid - Early 20s. Sophie is trying to find her voice, and truly see her art. She works with her mentor, Anthony. She doubts herself and her abilities, and almost gives up all she has worked for. A kind, dedicated personality who truly wants to succeed, but is lost. Will be needed for 3 or 4 days of filming - but will not be needed all day every day.

SOPHIE'S MOTHER - 30s or 40s - Sophie's Mother really wants the best for Sophie, but what she wants for Sophie, and what Sophie wants are different... and because of this she gets frustrated easily, and can be controlling.

ART PROFESSOR - 30s-60s - Sophie's art Professor has been in the scholastic system for a while, and has lost some of his touch. He wants the best for his students, and for Sophie... he just doesn't fully believe in her or her ability to succeed - and doesn't know how to get her to the next level. Will be needed for 1 partial day of filming.

TEENAGE SOPHIE - 13-17 years old. This is a non-speaking role, but is very important to the movie. Sophie grows up in the film, and teenage Sophie helps tell the story of Sophie growing older see the progression in her art. Will be needed for 2 days of filming. Logline:

When members of a dysfunctional family are reunited by the death of their father, they are faced with painful, humorous, and ultimately poignant reminders of the meaning of love.

Characters description and traits

Jeremy Bliss: mid 30's. Average body time and height(5'10"-6 max), blue eyes-kind look, soft features.

Traits: complicated, insecure, entrepreneurial spirit, rude, argumentative, ambitious, loves collecting toy cars since he was a kid, wants to be successful in life but can't get through the wall of insecurity, always dealing with personal daemons and the painful memories from his childhood.

Alice Bliss: late 20's early 30, pretty, friendly look but also able to express certain sadness through eyes, long hair-short hair(good) not shaved or bold. Light and dark eyes OK.

Traits:  goof ball, life of the party, insecure, frustrated, in need of affection, childish at times, frank, jovial, cries for no reason. Brings positive balance to the family.

Dante Bliss: mid 30's, singer-songwriter, shaggy hair, average height(5'10"-6 max), good looks. Actor-Musician preferred. Light and dark eyes, OK.

traits: suffers from anxiety(stage fright,phobia) insecure, timid, introvert, calm, soft spoken. great singer, sings his heart out, soulful…, he's a one album singer, only one hit song then disappeared.

About the project

This is an ultra low budget feature so the rates are per project only(one time fee). Selected actors will get half of the money up front and the other half after movie is completed.

We are still working the filming dates. First of all we want to make sure our cast is solid and ready. Because of the random nature of the shooting dates we will be able to work with everyone's schedule. We will have one table read with complete cast and after that  three  rehearsals with just main cast.

We are also looking for an AFRICAN AMERICAN female actor late 20s mid 30s,  for the role of Abby, she is the girlfriend of one of the main character for the first part of the movie, small role but with good screen time.

We need "Junior High" age extras for Granite Flats, Season 2.

Shoot Date will be Tuesday, October 1st.

Rate: $101.50 per day.

Shooting location will be in the Salt Lake City, UT area.

We will not have a call time until the night before of the shoot date, so kids may have to miss school for the day. So you must have the day open, up to 12 hrs.
