If you can come to auditions with a rehearsed monologue, I would LOVE that! I need to see how you can handle dialogue once you are familiar with it, so monologues are a plus

The story: The esteemed and retired Dr. Conrad Bering has selected, out of countless applicants, several individuals for private as well as Group therapy. It seems this Pulitzer Prize- winning doctor might be writing another book and it further seems these patients might be his subjects. The Group consists of Martin Chisholm, an ambitious political consultant; Dossie Lustig, a sensual restaurant hostess; the snob socialite Pamela Prideaux; Vassili Laimorgos, a sly dealer in antiques and collectibles; the rich and arrogant real estate mogul Gregory Reed; a cop with a grudge, Dan Gerard; and Nam-Jun Vuong, a college instructor and resentful would-be administrator. On this particular evening the members of the Group gather as usual in Dr. Bering’s office only to discover that the doctor has been murdered. Who did it? And what do the appearances of a mysterious young man who killed a girl in Central Park have to do with what’s going on? Does the fact that the doctor is the last and only tenant in this otherwise empty, guarded security building confirm that one of them had to have done it? To call the police will subject them to reckless scandal, relentless investigation and turn them all into fodder for the hungry media, so a collective decision is made to try to solve the murder themselves. The play then is propelled by a series of twists and turns and red herrings, along with some hold-your-breath shocks, all culminating in an explosive surprise ending. Act One is a “whodunit” and by its end the audience knows the murderer. Act Two becomes a suspense play… will the characters figure it out? Will someone actually be “getting away with murder?

We are looking for someone to play a wise, old gentleman for a promotional video for the Harold B. Lee Library at BYU.

Leather Goods Photo Shoot

I need the following talent as extras in a car commercial. These people will be portraying customers – looking at cars, shaking hands with a salesperson, etc. There are no lines or audio. It would be best to have people come at staggered times ½ hour apart. (1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00). The couple should (obviously) come together. Each person should only be needed for about 1 hour. Pay is $60 per person.

I need one or two of the people to be Hispanic and it would be good if another one of the people were African American or Asian. Want people with good smiles and that look happy and friendly.

Clothing should be casual, but not sloppy or grungy. Bright colors without intricate patterns will work best. Golf shirts and khakis or nice jeans for guys and the equivalent for girls – maybe even a fun skirt.

Audition Notice for Hit

International Best-Selling Author, Rebecca Ethington, is holding auditions for a new interactive novel experience due out September 2013. In this new debut work actors will portray the characters from the novel in online videos, blogs, images, and other social media to create a one of a kind reading experience.

To launch this new concept Ms. Ethington is looking for actors to portray the main characters in the above mentioned media as well as be featured on the cover for the release of the companion novel (Nov. 2013). Actors will be asked to participate in video and photo shoots on a bi-monthly basis for the next five months, and are required to be contracted to remain in their ‘role’ for the duration of the production. All actors will be compensated.

Schedule for filming and work are flexible and easily able to rotate around other commitments.

The characters that are being cast are the following:

Charlotte, female – aged 17, height, weight, and general look open to concept. — Called ‘Lotty’ by her best friend, Charlotte is the older sister and caregiver to her younger brother, and feels a constant need to protect him from the abusive situation at home. She is bubbly and outgoing once her barriers are broken down, but is naturally untrusting and cynical on first contact.

Robert, male – aged 12, height, weight, and general look open to concept – Robert is Charlotte’s younger brother is bright and able to find the positive in any bad situation. While Charlotte lives to protect him, he feels the same parentified need toward her. Robby enjoys video games, but his favorite is reading which does more often, and in secret.

Kris, male – aged 17, height, weight, and general look open to concept – Kris is Lotty’s best friend and the only one who has a clue about what Lotty is going through, but even then it’s the dumbed up version. With his own problems as home, Kris find companionship in Lotty’s company and finds that being around her makes everything feel a little better. While they have tried dating in the past, it just didn’t take and their relationship is purely plutonic. His interests are computers and baseball, which he plays quite well.

Dark, male – aged 18, height, weight, and general look open to concept – High schools star wrestler. He’s a bit cocky as all the attention has gone to his head a bit, but overall he is kind and understanding. Dark is Charlotte’s romantic interest. Charlotte helps to break down his cocky attitude and help him see the value of family, something he has disregarded since his father ‘disowned him’

Brooke, female – aged 18, height, weight, and general look open to concept – She’s bit of a diva. She has studied ballet her whole life and is of the opinion that nothing else matters. She is nice, but you have to see past her princess nature and sarcasm to really know the kind of person she is.

SVYT is proud to present a talent showcase for the valley. Funds from the talent showcase will go directly into the theater to help produce future shows. Your support of this event is greatly appreciated!

We are looking for acts of all kinds – dramatic readings, musical numbers (vocal, instrumental, bands, etc), group acts, individual acts, acrobats, comedians, etc. Everyone and anyone is welcome to audition for the showcase.

Acts should be no more than 5 minutes in length. All ages are welcome to audition, and all group sizes.

Auditions will be held on July 19 and 20 in West Jordan on Nathaneal Way – about 7900 S and 2400 W. Participants will receive a gift bag at the performance.
