ETHAN WELLS

INT. ETHAN’S APARTMENT (POV OF ETHAN’S CAMCORDER) - EVENING

(PAST)

ETHAN

I had lived the first twenty-seven years of my

life completely lost. Living it up, as I thought,

at nightclubs with all the alcohol and women a

man could want.

Ethan shifts uncomfortably on the bedside.

That was what I wanted. The life I thought I

wanted. Money was an accessory to me. And it was

my awareness of that which changed me. You know,

it amazes me to this day, of all the mistakes I

made, the thing that got me into trouble, the

money, was what pulled me out. I will never

forget that night…

Ethan looks DIRECTLY into the camera.

ETHAN

The glass is always half full. He saved my life.

This man could have seen the bad in me, could

have left me passed out in the street to fend for

myself. God knows I deserved it. But he didn’t.

He gave me a second chance. That is something,

Detective, I would like you to take to mind.

Everybody, good or bad, deserves a chance,

deserves to be seen as at least the glass half

full. If you can’t understand that, then this

will have all been for nothing.

JAMES BROOKS

BROOKS (V.O.)

Once the stock market had crashed, I was done

for, there was nowhere for me to go but to the

bottom- to the streets.

INT. BROOKS’ OFFICE (PAST)

Brooks pauses for a response from MCILROY, and then continues

when he remains silent.

But I never gave up. I never lost hope. I

continued to practice everything I knew about

economics and even managed to get better than I

had ever been before. The numbers were my only

friends-

Brooks begins to tear up, becoming very emotional.

That is until Ethan showed up.

BROOKS (V.O.)

He saw something in me that those who tossed me

to the curb never did. He put me back on my feet

and pushed me to succeed.(laughs, still emotional

though) You should know he didn’t hand me this

position as President of Wells Enterprises on a

platter. Jonathan Wells doesn’t exactly have the

heart his son had-

I worked tirelessly to get this job, but Ethan

was at my side the entire ride. God do I miss

that kid. To think this world lost a saint and it

doesn’t even know it.

DETECTIVE MCILROY

INT. PRESS CONFERENCE ROOM (PRESENT)

MCILROY

When Ethan began using corporate funds from Wells

Enterprises to help those in need... a ticking

time bomb waiting to go off.ETHAN was willing to

give his father a second chance, let him walk

free, but I was not so forgiving.Ethan will still

have what he wanted. ETHAN’s claim of suicide

will easily let his father walk clean. Ethan

hoped his father would see past the numbers, see

the faces of the people whose lives were changed

thanks to his work.

MCILROY, retrieves a folded-up piece of paper from his pocket

(it is Emily Dickinson’ poem)

MCILROY

ETHAN’s greatest hope of all, however, was that

the world never lose hope, never forget these

words:

“Hope” is the thing with feathers -

That perches in the soul -

And sings the tune without the words -

And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -

And sore must be the storm -

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm –

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -

And on the strangest Sea –

Yet - never - in Extremity,

It asked a crumb – of me.

WOMAN REPORTER

WOMAN REPORTER

(On TV)

ETHAN WELLS, son of JOHNATHAN WELLS, C.E.O. of

Wells Enterprises, was found dead this morning on

the steps of the Cathedral downtown. WELLS,

infamous for his playboy lifestyle and clashes

with the media, was twenty-eight years old…

Utah-Female 16-24 Male hipanic 45-60 pay

May 23, 2013
Good Craze client!
I'm looking for two potential actors.

Female- An Anne Hathaway type 16-24 yr old.  Sweet, conservative looking.  blonde or brunette.  Will play a young woman in the late 1800s.

Male - hispanic 45-60.  The character is a world traveling, newspaper reporter from Mexico in the late 1800s.  Should have an authentic Mexican accent, but be easily understood as well in English.  All lines will be spoken in English.

Strong actors preferred.  Let me know if you have anyone that fits either or both roles.

It's for a religious museum display about the Mormon church. (Its not being produced by the church but by a private non-profit group) so pay would be pretty minimal.  But, its a cool thing to say they have done as the actors will be filmed as the faces of these historical characters.

Las Vegas Extras non paid

May 22, 2013

Stop Traffick, a short film about human trafficking, redemption and hope, needs extras for our one day shoot in Las Vegas.  Can you act like a thug?  If so, we need you, and your thug buddy, for a day of on camera work.

We need a total of 2-3 "thugs" for this film. They will be featured at times throughout the film, so our thugs will need to tough it out with us during the entire day - 3PM May 23 to 3AM May 24.

Want to know more about the project?  See below, watch this https://vimeo.com/64705225, and visit us at facebook.com/stoptraffickfilm

If you are interested, reserve your ticket on eventbrite, and send an email. You will be contacted by our producer to help coordinate your day in front of the camera.

Stop Traffick extras are unpaid positions, but we will feed you and we will, altogether, join the fight against human trafficking in America!

A note from Wes Halula, the writer and director of Stop Traffick:

I'd like to think I'm aware of what's going on in the world. I'm a college-educated guy. I read a lot. I watch the PBS NewsHour. Heck, I've written and directed hundreds of educational films. And last year, all of my blood sweat and tears was spent working to keep kids in Asia, Africa and South America out of poverty and away from traffickers. It's easy to get a sense of "the big picture" when you're writing and directing a massive project for a nonprofit with enormous impact worldwide. So I'm keenly aware of the fact that human trafficking is a huge issue globally.

But, until recently, I didn't realize that trafficking is a massive problem right here in the United States.

According to Shared Hope International, over 100,000 American children are trafficked for sex. The average age? 13.

I'm embarrassed that I didn't know this was happening on this grand of scale. After talking to church leaders, nonprofits and experts in the war against human trafficking, I feel compelled to do something. And if there is one thing God has wired me to do, it's to tell a good story.

So we're going to tell a good story. An American story. Not a story of depravity. Not a story of oppression. But a story of Life. Hope. Restoration. Healing. Atonement.

We'll be filming with the absolute best equipment in Hollywood. More importantly, I'm blown away by the talent and experience that has stepped up to help me with this short film. People that are the best at what they do. People that are passionate about both making great films and stopping human trafficking.

Combined, the team has produced 7 feature films, 16 music videos, 110 commercials, and 115 short films.

So we're committed to making this movie. If you believe great film can change minds and open hearts, if the thought of just one child being trafficked in your home country is too much for you, if you are excited to take action that could REALLY impact the fight against child trafficking, please donate below. Every donation you make is tax-deductible.

Keep fighting the good fight...

-Wes Halula, Writer/Director, Stop Traffick
