(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Central Wyoming College Theater Department is holding an audition for the public reading of the critically acclaimed play 8 on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage of the Robert A. Peck Arts Center.

With support from the CWC Diversity Committee, the theater department plans to present a staged reading of the new documentary play that tackles the marriage equality debate. The play is by Dustin Lance Black, the Academy Award winning screenwriter of Milk.

Theater director Mike Myers said there are roles for 16 men and five women and those auditioning will be asked to read from the script.

The selected actors will rehearse four times and only one performance is scheduled on Sunday, March 3 at 2:30 p.m.

You or your group could be the next Speedway Superstar to sing at the next NASCAR event in Las Vegas.

Open auditions for FOX5 and Sam's Town 300's Speedway Superstar begin Saturday, Jan. 19.

Singers – soloists and groups – who are age 14 and older are eligible to audition at the Sagebrush Room at Sam's Town Casino and Hotel, 5111 Boulder Highway in Las Vegas. Groups of 2-4 people are now eligible to audition.

Contestants can begin lining up at 6 a.m., with registration open at 9 a.m. and auditions at 10 a.m.

Please bring your Nevada ID to the audition. All auditions will be acapella.

The eventual winner of this year's Speedway Superstar will win the opportunity to sing the National Anthem before the Sam's Town 300, a NASCAR Nationwide Series event, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 10.

Description: Jason is accused of manslaughter in connection with a drunk driving accident that also put Jason in a coma. Jason is in a coma for most of the episode, but awakens for one scene where he has a difficult conversation with his uncle, former FBI agent Bill Janson. Jason is being raised by his grandmother after his parents lost custody. Jason is a recurring character.

Amy Kepler (Featured/Female/All Ethnicities/14 - 16 years)
Description: Amy struggles with self-worth issues and tends to seek male attention in order to feel attractive. She recently lost both her younger sister and father. Amy is a recurring character.

The Children's Theatre is casting the action packed production "Robin Hood." James Parker, artistic dir.

Project description: "An action packed production which will include all the famous characters. Most male roles will require some fighting skills, sword, cudgel, and hand-to-hand."

Rehearses mostly evenings & weekends; runs March 1-23, with a possible extension through March 30 in S. Salt Lake, UT.

Seeking—Actors: males and females, all ages, all ethnicities, no experience necessary. Note: All roles are for adult actors with some teenage age roles and possibly a few children.
