About The
Musical
We are conducting a staged reading in preparation for NYC
festivals and workshops the following year.
THE BENCH: JOURNEY INTO LOVE
is a musical dance spectacular that explores the many facets of love. Conceived
and choreographed by Kiesha Lalama THE BENCH: JOURNEY INTO LOVE is a work with
dramatic and comedic artistry that blends Lalama’s signature expressive movement
as a “dance-maker” with a corps of dancers as “the storytellers” who take us
through one family’s journey. Two vocalists -- one woman and one man, represent
the mystical spirit and guides us into each “chapter of love” expressing the
secret thoughts of the characters with song.
Lead
Singer/Storytellers
Looking for two strong singer/actors, One Male and
One Female, to deliver a variety of emotions and skills ranging from a Narrator
type role to vocalizing other characters thoughts or conscience. Versatility and
strong acting skills are necessary. Storytellers as narrators are wise, old
souls, aware, intuitive, all-knowing, and thought provoking. Storytellers as
other character conscience explore many levels of emotions such as: happiness,
pain, vulnerability, humility, confusion, loss, and ultimately… love.
Both
singers must have strong musicality and some improvisational skills (e.g.
McFerrin, Jarreau, Esperanza, Souza, Monheit, et al.). Sight-reading ability is

skills.

We are seeking a lead for a live action comic book film. You would be playing a superheroine. Compensation is 125/day.
Looking for a young looking, fit, and dynamic woman who is able to go
with the flow and accept direction. Acting ability is paramount. The
personality of the heroine is proud, innocent, righteous, and is not
used to defeat. At the same time, an ability to play a "damsel in
distress" is required, as the character will encounter various
challenges in the pseudo fantasy realm. We'd prefer some experience in
stage fighting, combat, or martial arts, but it is not absolutely
required. If you can go with the flow and are willing to work very
quickly, you will be considered. There is very little down time during
the shoot, so high energy is critical.
We film frequently, up to 2-3 times/month, and we're always looking for
actresses to play reoccurring roles!

According to the Actors’ Equity Broadway production breakdown, there are three adult principal roles, six featured chorus roles, and several other chorus/ensemble roles. These auditions are for all adult roles. The following is a breakdown of adult principal and featured chorus roles.
PRINCIPAL ROLES
JEAN VALJEAN: Tenor. Ages from mid-thirties to early fifties over the course of the play (1815-1832) - but life and events “age” him even more than do the years. Highly intelligent. Deep emotional and spiritual resources. Hunted and driven by the law, but equally driven by a deep moral conviction to do right. A man of enormous physical, emotional and moral strength.
INSPECTOR JAVERT: Baritone. Ages from mid-thirties to late forties/early fifties over course of play. Highly intelligent. Cunning and clever. Emotional scars have left him rigid and un-bending. The need to serve “justice” has turned into obsession, which he ultimately realizes.
FANTINE (Doubles as “Street Urchin.”): Mezzo-Soprano. Twenties. A beauty both angelic and sensual - but ravaged by poverty, misfortune, degradation and tuberculosis. Deep emotional resources and unwavering love for and commitment to her daughter.
FEATURED CHORUS ROLES
COSETTE: Soprano. Early Twenties. Beautiful, innocent, intelligent. A pure heart and a pure soul at the moment of self-discovery and the discovery of love.
THÉNARDIER: Baritone. Ages from mid-thirties to late forties/early fifties over course of play. Conniving, greedy, vicious, without ethics or scruples. Dangerous. Unctuous when it suits his purposes, rapacious when the mask is down. Has comic moments but a big mistake to play into that. There is nothing “cute” about him.
MADAME THÉRNARDIER: Alto. Ages from mid-thirties to late forties/early fifties over course of play. Mean spirited, conniving, greedy, cruel. Utterly without ethics or scruples and therefore assumes no one else is capable of them, either. A perfect match for her husband.
EPONINE: Mezzo-Soprano. Early twenties. Street smart. Tough. Savvy. Strong. A good, true and ultimately courageous heart.
ENJOLRAS: Bari/tenor. Twenties to early thirties. Leader of the student revolutionaries. Charismatic, fiery, a true leader.
MARIUS: Bari/tenor. Twenties. Good-looking leading man. A member of the student revolutionary group - but at heart a poet, a dreamer and a romantic.
All other ensemble roles will be assigned “as cast.”
Good Pay!
Please let Craze know if you are cast thanks
