The Firehouse Theatre Project has also announced auditions for A Bright New Boise, by Samuel D. Hunter, running Sept. 20 - Oct. 13, directed by Morrie Piersol.

Auditions will take place May 6 and 7 from 7-10pm at Firehouse Theatre Project.

Samuel D. Hunter won a 2011 Obie Award for Playwrighting for A Bright New Boise, which was nominated the same year for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play. In this play, a disgraced evangelical from Northern Idaho takes a job at a Hobby Lobby franchise in Boise, Idaho in order to reconnect with an estranged son. But as his fellow employees begin to uncover dark secrets from his past, and his son becomes increasingly interested in his reasons for leaving his church, he must choose whether or not to have a normal life and a healthy relationship with his son, or hold onto the beliefs that have given his life meaning. Called a "dark but deeply empathetic comedy" by the Washington City Paper, A Bright New Boise was originally commissioned and produced by Partial Comfort Productions, NYC. September 20th - October 13th.

We will be starting our new session Saturday May 05th, 2012. The class runs from 10 am to 1 pm.

The first class is organized for you to get a feel for the class and how we have it structured, so if you're wanting to check it out but not sure about signing up yet, come play with us on Saturday, May 05th.

We will have to limit the size of the class, where at first we may start with about 30, but because of the work we do, I expect that number to fall to about 20 by the end of the first workbook.

Synopsis:
Its summer and once again Audrey is preparing for her first summer guests, which tend to be fisherman in spring and summer and hunters in fall and winter. An unusual bed and breakfast that caters almost entirely to men. A wonderful B&B along the river. Audrey seems almost too excited about the first guests for the season. Is there something slightly different about this B&B or is it something unusual that she offers her guests? A dark little tale of a fishing tail.

Calling all scallywags! Pirates of the Coeur d'Alene is launching it's third season on the lake and needs experienced, energetic actors to join it's swashbuckling crew.

Gay Man #1, 33 years old. He is the more effeminate partner of the couple. He carries
their pet capuchin monkey, as if it is their child. He is the more flamboyantly dressed of
the two.
Gay Man #2, 33 years old. A careful dresser, he looks as if he wears a suit to work
every day. He is clearly dressed for an evening out and if he weren't holding hands with
his partner, it would be hard to tell he is a gay man.
