We begin casting for "Take a Stand" May 18th in Salt Lake time to be announced still (hopefully by next week as we need to get out the audition notices out to agents, schools, and actors). Utah short film ages 25-35

My name is Rod Santiano (www.rodsantiano.com) and I am directing a short film called "Mother to Mother" on Saturday May 5th and need to cast two roles quickly. It is non-paying as it is a student endeavor that I am helping out with.

It is a comedic homage to our mothers and all they put up with when they were raising us. The main two characters will be required to play themselves as modern-day adults and also themselves as children in a few flashbacks.

The film will be about 5 minutes long and will be targeted to a Mother's Day audience on YouTube but will also stand on it's own the rest of the year as well as on the film festival circuit.

Needed are:

GERT: Female, 25-35, dark hair preferred, strong but overwhelmed mother of two very young children, funny
SCOTTY: Male, 30s, dark hair preferred, Gert's older brother, awkward, funny, most scenes are in flashbacks as a child

Pioneer Theatre Company Announces Auditions for the Musical

Auditions for Pioneer Theatre Company’s 2012-2013 opening musical, In the Heights, will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012, from noon to 5:00 p.m. Callbacks will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012. Callback times will be announced to auditioners who are invited back.
Audition slots from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 are for Actors’ Equity members only. Audition slots from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. are open to all auditioners (auditioners must be 18 years old or older). The audition slots are limited to three minutes.
Non-AEA auditioners must come in to sign up on the callboard in Room 325 at the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. AEA members may contact Elizabeth Williamson at elizabeth.williamson@ptc.utah.edu to sign up, but only a week before the audition. (This feature is available for Actors’ Equity members only, and only as early as Thursday, May 3, 2012.)
The sign-up sheet will be posted by noon on Thursday, May 3, 2012. Auditions will be held in Room 245 at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre.
The first audition will be singing only. Auditioners should prepare a song from the show or in a similar Broadway style. An accompanist will be provided, but auditioners should bring their own sheet music and/or scores (neither will be provided by the theatre). A photo and résumé are recommended. The callback audition will involve dancing and reading from the script as well.
Rehearsal dates for the production are Monday, August 20, 2012 – Thursday, September 13, 2012; performance dates are Friday, September 14, 2012 – Saturday, September 29, 2012. Guest director Matt August will direct the production, Bob Richard will choreograph and Helen Gregory will be the musical director. New PTC Artistic Director Karen Azenberg will also attend the audition.
All roles are currently available; all auditioners must be 18 or older
