Matthew, Good Improvisional skills- 25-35 years old. Dressed as if he's backpacking through Europe on $5 a day. Caucasian, any hair color, no facial hair. Intelligent, average looking, great sense of humor. Can hold his own in an improvisational, comedic smack down of epic proportions.

Jenny, Good Improvisional skills- 28-37 years old. She's “Maureen O'Hara” redhead gorgeous. She can hold her own with the most obnoxious of bar patrons, yet is big hearted and generous.

Rachel, Good Improvisional skills -23-29 years old. Her naturally black hair and startingly pale complexion, suggests she was born to be a Goth. She is “runway model” tall and lean. Although she doesn't look as if she belongs with the regulars of the bar, she is clearly one of the family.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, April 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM
at the SLCC South City Campus located at 1700 South and State Street in
SLC, UT. Enter the building from the west side and follow the signs.

In a world where competitive eating is your life, there’s just one thing
you need to win : guts…and determination – that’s two – the two things you
need to win. One man’s last chance to be champion pits him against a
pedigreed child prodigy in a tale of two destinies intertwined like the
small intestine. Come be a part of the Salt Lake Community College Film
1055’s production of “Intestinal Fortitude”.

Ruston : late 20’s to late 30’s male. Unemployed and doesn’t have a lot
going for him except for his intestinal fortitude – the unnatural ability
to eat almost anything. Not physically large, (only slightly larger than
average) but probably tall and awkward looking. Must be able to cram a
whole pancake in his mouth at once.

Candy Rothchild : female, must be able to pull off a 14-16 year old look,
but prefer someone who is over 18. Ruston’s nemesis, she is the daughter of
a former titan in the competitive eating circuit, and shows remarkable
promise, although her dreams lead elsewhere.

Susy : female 20’s to 30’s. Cute, but in a plain sort of way. Works at the
grocery store that Ruston frequents, and is his secret crush. Somewhat shy
and plain looking, but she enjoys Ruston’s attention.

Stephen Rothchild : male, 40’s or older. Candy’s father. Has an imposing
physical appearance, aggressive, boisterous, driven to win, and wants the
same for his daughter.

Sherman : 20’s to 30’s male. Skinny and nerdy. Ruston’s easily excited best
friend. He lives vicariously through Ruston’s competitions.

Announcer : Male, any age. Hipster look – too cool for school, and
definitely bored with running an eating contest.

2 Characters
These two characters have never met before, and don’t have a whole lot in
common. One is a younger looking guy. He’s somewhat fresh faced. The other is
a girl. A little bit older than him, a little more worldly, and not very patient when it
comes to customers who aren’t showing her the proper license. A decent amount
of the humor in the spot will come from the facial expressions of these two
characters, so both will need to be able to convey a lot without saying much.

Gender: Male
Age: Mid-20’s
Ethnicity: Caucasian or mixed-ethnicity
This guy is a little bit quirky. He’s of drinking age but it’s questionable how old,
exactly. He could be in his early-20s or mid-20s, but we don’t want him to look
like he could be underage. We should be able to empathize with him a little bit
since he’s being hassled by the cashier. However, since he carries a license to
excellence, we do want him to have a bit of an edge. Something beneath the
surface that reveals itself slowly as the spot progresses. The only mandatory is
that he isn’t a geek. He is in his own way, excellent, because he does carry the
license. We want people to think this guy is cool. But not forced cool.

2 - Cashier
Gender: Female
Age: Late 30’s-40’s.
Ethnicity: Any, American accent. Should be easily distinguishable from Guy #1,
both in appearance and voice.
She is the more serious of the two characters. Her expressions will need to be a
bit more deadpan and her delivery a bit more dry. She will need to be able to be
somewhat disinterested and annoyed.

Every character has been developed to be a part of the tapestry in the
town of Proper, USA. Even the smallest roles can develop into front
burner story lines and lead characters can be written out any time.

There is NO nudity nor will we be using the F-bomb, however there will
be other profanity occasionally and adult situations. The characters
on the soap, much like the real world, are diverse – all ethnicities,
religions, sexual orientations and political persuasions. We will not
modify characters based on actor's moral or religious input as the
characters themselves “live” in a different world and everything,
loosely based on reality, is fictional. Of course, the characters will
be evolving/developing and changing based on what they experience as a
character living in Proper. Any familiarity of any person living or
dead is purely coincidental.

HECTOR SOTO – Male, Mexican, gardener/handyman to the Sorrento family,
27-32 years old, brother to Roger Soto. He was sponsored into the
country by Alessandro. He is hard-working, honest and has an
incredible sense of humor. He is loyal to the Sorrento's. He also
works at the Sorrento family restaurant, Soul & Bones. He is currently
single and misses his family back in Mexico. He is excited about the
opportunity he now has in the United States. He is respectful of women
at all times. He likes to relax by listening to Mexican music and
drinking beer.

ROGER SOTO – Male, Mexican, gardener/handyman to the Sorrento family,
23-27 years old, brother to Hector Soto. He was sponsored into the
country by Alessandro. He still has a thick Mexican accent. He works
at the Sorrento family restaurant, Soul & Bones. He is over-the-top,
passionate about flirting with women and is convinced any woman would
want him but not in an arrogant manner. He is confident and fun. He is
a bit of a binge drinker, dabbles in marijuana and loves to have a
good time and laugh. He can always be counted on to get work done. He
has a soft spot for slightly overweight, white trash, trailer park
girls.

RHETT BODELL – Male, mid 40's, Caucasian, country boy with college
degree, heavily involved in agriculture, married to April Bodell, 2
daughters (Erin & Amelia) matter of fact attitude, mysterious but not
creepy, bored in marriage but loyal to his wife because she is a great
mom. He is having a mid-life crisis.

FRANK HOLDER (Pastor/Preacher) - late 40's-early 50's, Baptist
Pastor/Preacher in Proper, Caucasian, short/pudgy in stature.  He has
an overly friendly almost bubbly personality,.  He is very opinionated
and very influential among Proper's Christian and Baptist community.
He is always battling against the new bar opening, gay rights, and at
the same time building a religious complex that is among the largest
of any town of Proper's size.  In his private life he is abusive and
controlling.  Publically, his is affiable, supporting and friendly.
He is not happy with what he perceives as Proper going in the wrong
direction.

CLANCEY MAHEU (Mayor) (recurring) - Caucasian, 60's,
balding/receding/gray hair, old school "Good old boy", jaded and
cynical in nature, married with children and grandchildren that live
in Proper, very gruff, but well-spoken when he has to be.  Has kind of
a Jakyll/Hyde in his approach to the public, out of touch with
society.  Occasional cigar smoker/ scotch drinker, former jock who has
passed his glory days and let his body go.

ANNA SORRENTO (Recurring) – 23, attractive, sports-minded, Italian,
brunette, petite, hopeless romantic, emotionally unstable, sharp wit
and finds humor in every situation. She is open to suggestion, easily
trusts others and is often misled. Needs a stable family to feel
complete. Her life is filled with tragedy.

INEZ MONTGOMERY - mid 70's or older, African-American, aunt to Douglas
Summerfield.  She is a quiet, wise, strong woman who remembers the
Civil Rights Era as if it happened yesterday.  She is an old school
Southern Baptist, sings in the church choir.  Josephine views her as
more of a housekeeper than as family.  She is a good role model to the
Summerfield daughters.  She is proud of Douglas and loves him like he
were her own son.  Never says a cross word about another person but
you can tell what she's thinking by looking into her eyes.

NIGEL HOLMES (Recurring) - Caucasian, 25-32 years old, uneducated,
trailer park dwelling, drug using, alcoholic, abusive, predatory
instincts, ex-con (multiple), thin, tall, gaunt-like, slight look of a
madman, violent streaks, unemployed & uneducated, high school drop
out.

BARTENDER - Male

SEBASTIAN STEWART - Male, 16-18 - The all American surfer/skater that
EVERYONE loves - doesn't have an enemy or a detractor. Gorgeous blonde
flowing slightly curly hair and blue eyes. sometime stoner, always a
lover, honest, loves and accepts everyone. Good looking, tan (NEW

MOMMA - Drag Queen Porn Producer, Chi-Chi Larue meets Divine, she is a
porn producer. She is a big, burly, manly-woman with a Kathleen Turner
voice but she views herself more as RuPaul. She is a tough, no
nonsense kind of person. She does not drink, smoke or do drugs. She is
a drag queen who can exploit someone’s weakness for her own gain
especially young, attractive “twink” boys, out of work porn stars, and
“bears”. She is the Bruce Wayne of gay porn and the gay pride
movement. She has zero tolerance for hypocrites, closeted Republicans,
and anyone that is predatory or hurtful for their own personal
pleasure. She operates her business with the mentality that if a
potential client is already broken she will hire them but she won’t be
the one to break them into the porn industry. She is the keeper of gay
law and she is a vigilante.
