Seeking Actors, Musicians and Acrobats with a love of Shakespeare and collaborative work.

The Grassroots Shakespeare Company is an association of actors creating vibrant theater through the exploration of original rehearsal and staging conditions. In short, with no directors, designers or technicians, the actors have complete ownership over their performance. It is truly a one of a kind experience.

With over 1,500 fans on facebook,and audience sizes doubling every year, this is one of the most exciting theater companies to be involved in.

Auditions will take play in Orem and Provo on April 3rd from 4-8pm with Callbacks the following evening. Come prepared with a 1-2 minute Shakespeare monologue. Rehearsals will run in the evening through May with touring dates through June and early July.

Phil, an average nice guy, is madly in love with the beautiful Sophia. The only problem is that she’s unaware of his existence. He tries to introduce himself but she looks right through him. When Phil discovers Sophia has a glass eye, he thinks that might be the problem, but soon realizes that she really can’t see him. Perhaps he is caught in a philosophical hyperspace or dualistic reality or perhaps beautiful women are just unaware of nice guys. Armed only with a B.A. in philosophy, Phil sets out to prove his existence and win Sophia’s heart.

Mild Language and Suggestive Situations
All auditions will take place at SCT’s permanent facility, 4802 Emerald, Boise.

"A Chance to Dance," a docu-series based on a British format, has been commissioned by Ovation, a cable/satellite channel devoted to arts programming. Nigel Lythgoe ("So You Think You Can Dance") is one of the producers.

The show, which is scheduled to debut on Aug. 17, will follow two former London Royal Ballet Dancers, Michael Nunn and William Trevitt — the creators of the BalletBoyz Dance Company in England — as they search America for undiscovered dance talent to form a new company. There won’t be just one winner, there will be a group who make it through the auditions.

The Utah auditions are Saturday, March 31, at Pointe Performing Arts Academy at 10981 N. 5600 West, Highland. Check-in is at 9 a.m.

o ALAN - Mid twenties to early thirties. Must be clean cut in appearance and of average build. Quick to anger and is insecure and unsure of the paternity of his girlfriend's pregnancy.
