Magique Productions, Ltd. is casting Galahad, a locally-produced TV pilot about a former police officer teaming up with a wheelchair-bound savant to discover the truth about an autistic teen accused of poisoning his girlfriend. Galahad will be a Christian show with strong moral messages to help those struggling with life's daunting hurts, hangups, and habits. Seeking—Bill Janson: male, 35-40, any ethnicity, featured role, FBI agent who recently resigned due to ongoing marital problems, separated from his wife, but retains custody of his 17 year old step daughter, Holly, Bill was once close friends with Galahad, but had a falling out about 6 months ago; Mark Phillips: male, 45-55, African-American/Caucasian/Hispanic/ethnically ambiguous, featured role, director of operations for the FBI in Las Vegas, an atheist who enjoys butting heads with those who believe in God, he is critical, judgmental, and sometimes overbearing; David Collins: male, 18-20, any ethnicity, featured role, an intern at the FBI who is studying criminal justice at the local community college, he is outgoing, enthusiastic, a hard worker who would do just about anything to get a chance to help solve a case; Allison Stone: female, 7-9, ethnically ambiguous, featured role, Galahad's daughter who was killed in a car crash, she appears in a nightmare sequence in which Galahad re-lives the tragic accident and a flashback sequence as a Christmas caroler, several lines of dialog are required of Allison in distress calling to her dad to help her, should be comfortable with people and willing to project her voice loudly as if in distress, must have nice singing voice to sing a short portion of a traditional Christmas Carol; Elise Stone: female, 28-35, Hispanic/Middle Eastern/Pacific Islander/Caucasian/ethnically ambiguous, Galahad's wife who died in a car accident, she appears in a flashback scene from before the accident, she's intelligent, sensitive, and loving, her flashback scene is a very tender moment/discussion with her husband about their baby and what they will name her when she is born; Danny: male, 16-17, any ethnicity, featured role, a teenage boy with autism who is accused of poisoning his girlfriend; Bobby Gray: male, Caucasian, 14-18, featured role, a teenager with Down syndrome, he has a carefree attitude and usually says exactly what he's thinking even if it isn't always appropriate or politically correct, he is Heather Gray's cousin; Melissa Hollbrook: female, any ethnicity, 16-18, featured role, a troubled young girl who found love in a teenage boy with autism, after moving to a new school and losing all of her former friends, she acts out a romantic fantasy from Romeo & Juliet and commits suicide, but her boyfriend is left to take the blame; Mrs. Hollbrook: female, 40-45, any ethnicity, featured role, a hard-working manager for a local shipping company, she lost her daughter, Melissa, to an alleged poisoning by her autistic boyfriend. She is extremely bitter over the tragic event.

Broadway favorites, family style

The Draper Arts Council will hold auditions for its “Broadway Family Favorites” musical revue, with numbers from “West Side Story,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Guys and Dolls,” “The Music Man,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “Newsies” and many more. Desert Star Theatre is looking for child actors 8-13 to audition for its six-week acting and theater class to prepare for the theater’s winter production of “Jack and the Bean Dip!” The class will cover the basics of acting, singing and dancing.
