The story: A small group of weary travelers discover the power of the season while trapped in a lonely train station on Christmas Eve. As a blizzard rages outside, the troubled people are forced to turn to each other for companionship. Trying to make them more comfortable is the old stationmaster, Charlie. When the clock strikes midnight, there is a knock on the station door and seven youngsters appear. They've seen the station lights from the nearby church where, in secret, they've been practicing the story of the nativity which they plan to present at regular service. They offer to perform their play for the travelers and afterward, speak to the travelers individually, giving advice which is seemingly wise beyond their years. The next morning, as a new, younger stationmaster lights a Christmas candle, we realize the mysterious stop in the travelers' journey was more than accidental and has given them a renewed spirit and resolve.

Auditions for Reading of Terrence McNally Play, Some Men


SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:

Local actors are being sought for a reading of Some Men by Terrence McNally, to be presented Monday, October 10, at the Jeanne Wagner Theatre. Mr. McNally will attend the reading and will participate in events surrounding the event. Pygmalion Productions, a resident tenant of the Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts, will sponsor the reading.


The reading will feature several well-known national celebrities. Susan Dietz, who originally commissioned the show for the Sundance Institute, playwright Terrence McNally, and the director, Don Amendolia, will be casting the reading. They would like to supplement the national cast with Utah talent, and will review electronically submitted resumes, headshots and audition tapes.



Some Men requires nine male actors aged mid-twenties to mid-fifties. One African-American man is required. Casting is flexible.



As the reading is a fundraiser for the Courage Campaign and the Utah Pride Center, all actors will be asked to donate their time.

I am in need of male actors, who can sing, and dance, for ensemble roles, in an upcoming production of Curtains The Musical.  They don't have to have professional training, just the ability hold a tune, walk and chew gum at the same time. We are putting on this production at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse. This is a great opportunity for beginning actors to get some experience. It's community theatre and unpaid. BYU TV International is looking for female and male talents for a sports
show that will take place this coming Fall. It will be a weekly show +
games, so we do need some flexibility from the talents, plus their
commitment.
