Backstage Theatre announces winter shows auditions
The Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge is holding auditions for its upcoming winter shows of “Cannibal The Musical,” “A Christmas Story” and “The Wedding Eve.”

Auditions will be conducted at the Breckenridge Theatre, 121 S. Ridge St. in Breckenridge on Sunday, from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. All shows will be directed by Backstage artistic director Christopher Willard (“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” “The Full Monty”).

“Cannibal the Musical” is the stage version of “The Book of Mormon” and “South Park” co-creator Trey Parker's hysterical film about Alferd Packer, the only man in Colorado history tried for cannibalism. This play contains strong language and adult content. Rehearsals begin in early September. Performances are multiple dates in October. Seeking male and female performers age 16-60. Singers and dancers especially encouraged to audition. Please note this is a revival of our successful past production, and some roles have been precast. Please prepare a one-minute comic monologue and be prepared to sing from the score. Lodging will be provided for those living outside the Breck area. All roles are paid.

“A Christmas Story” is the stage version of Bob Clark's beloved film about 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the perfect Christmas present — a red Ryder 100-Shot Carbine Action Range Model Air Rifle. Rehearsals begin in late September. Performances are multiple dates in November. Seeking men, women, and kids age 6 to 60+. Casting for two men, two women, fove boys and two girls. Please prepare a memorized one- minute comic monologue. You may be asked to read from the script. All roles are paid.

“The Wedding Eve” is a world premiere screwball comedy about an out-of-control wedding in 1930's Hollywood. This production will feature Missy Moore and Bob Moore.

Rehearsals begin in early November. Performances are multiple dates in January. Casting for eight men and women. Please prepare a one-minute comic monologue. Lodging will be provided for those living outside the Breckenridge area. All roles are paid.

Documentary series about people living double lives. The goal of this transformational series is to help people rebuild and heal fractured lives in a non-exploitative way.

We are currently casting and are reaching out to people who would like to share their “double life” story or may know someone who is living one. For example, this person may be a man who his family thinks is rich and successful but in reality is homeless. He no longer wants to live a lie and wants to come clean to his family and friends. We’d like to reach out to the general public and people from our industry – we are casting a wide net across the country!

Do you want to make a change and are you ready? We can help. From the Executive Producer of the acclaimed documentary series, “Intervention” comes a new series about people who are living double lives.

We are searching for people who are tired of keeping their secret from their family, friends, and loved ones. We are only looking for people who are genuinely interested in finding healing in their lives.

The goal of this transformational series is to help people rebuild and heal fractured lives. This is a documentary series that is non-exploitative and will treat each participant with extreme sensitivity. Participants will be offered the choice to consult with a therapist during production.

Volunteer Extras needed

Our production team is looking for atmosphere/background volunteer extras for the
simultaneous production of a webisode episode, and a two live music videos for separate bands.

You will be working with well-known and credible producers, directors, photographers, and
musicians.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be okay with loud music, and some explicit lyrics
- Must be open-minded to non-traditional, and unconventional, concepts and atmosphere
- Must be willing to engage in improvisational interaction with an interviewer (if
approached)

The overall concept of the footage is based on dark humor, and entertaining dialogue,
but which may be considered vulgar to some – Volunteer EXTRAS must be comfortable
with, and be able to interact with that type of humor.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Volunteer EXTRAS are wanted to play MUSIC FANS in the audience of a live
performance. Must be willing to dance, have a good time, and visually portray a genuine
enjoyment of the music. (That will be easy.) We are looking for attractive men and
women between the ages of 21 to 40, from any and all ethnic backgrounds, and that can
arrive on set, dressed in a style that is club sexy/classy/fashionable.

FILMING DATE:

Filming will take place Friday, August 12, 2011 from 8:00pm to 2:00am. Filming location is in
South Salt Lake City, UT. You will be expected to stay for the duration of the filming.

Character Descriptions:

McGill: late 40s/50s/early 60s. Owner of a large cattle ranch just outside of Yellowstone, McGill is a no-nonsense businessman, who staunchly opposes the reintroduction of wolves to area. When several of his cattle are killed by wolves, he stirs the pot of political opposition in the local communities. He is also the father of Owen's crush, Zoe.

Senator Harris: late 40s/50s/early 60s. Senator Harris is a conservative strongly aligned with the ranching community. He's concerned about the economic impact of the wolves and feels pressured to protect the livelihood of his constituency.

Teacher: 30s/early 40s. Male or female. High school chemistry teacher. A young teacher with a sense of humor and a commanding presence. He/she is relatable enough to make high school science interesting, but is still a respected authority figure to the students.

Reporter: 30s/40s/50s. Male or female. A reporter for a local news affiliate, he/she is smart, articulate and assertive. He/she is always ready to jump into a heated situation in the interest of a good story.

Utah -Guerilla Theatre West Kids and Adults

Guerilla Theatre West announces auditions for their first show...EVER!

Auditions for William Shakespeare's tragedy "Macbeth" will be held from 6pm to 8:30pm on Thursday, August 25th at the Salt Lake Public Library (Downtown) on the lower level (the basement, by the Children's Library) in Conference Room L-1.

Please have a Shakespearean monologue prepared (between 1 to 2 minutes in length). If you do not have a monologue prepared, there will be cuttings from the script available to audition with.

We are looking for all ages (kids AND adult actors!), genders, types, etc. So don't be afraid to audition!
