Mnet, a 24/7 U.S. English language network devoted to Asian pop culture, and allkpop.com, a source for all the latest K-pop gossip and news, are casting an new daily, two-hour K-pop TV series. Casting across the U.S.; shooting begins Fall 2011 in L.A.

Seeking—English-Speaking K-pop VJ: male or female, 18+, any ethnicity, no prior television experience is necessary, but candidates should be energetic, full of personality, and have an extensive knowledge of the world of K-pop. Note: The selected applicant will receive a contract from Mnet and will need to be available to film at Mnet's studios in Los Angeles.

In-person auditions will be held by invitation only Aug. 20 in L.A. To apply, upload an audition video to YouTube and send the link along with your name, age, address, and daytime telephone number ASAP to info@mnetamerica.com. Audition videos must be less than five minutes in length and must include: an introduction including name, age, and city the applicant resides in; reasons why the applicant would make a good VJ; applicant's favorite K-pop artists; a song and dance routine from applicant's favorite K-pop artist; and anything else that will make the applicant stand out. Submission deadline is Aug. 12. Selected applicants will be invited to an in-person audition in L.A. on Aug. 20 and five finalists will be selected. Allkpop.com will post the finalists' audition videos on allkpop.com for fans to vote for their favorite VJ. The final decision will be heavily influenced by the fans' votes. Westside Players Auditions (August 11-12) for "Wait Until Dark" Event Description
Director Dan Varas will conduct auditions for the Fall thriller by Frederick Knott, "Wait Until Dark" at
The Warehouse, 1009 South 2nd, corner of Putnam and 2nd.  7pm. Thursday, August 11 will focus on auditions for adults and August 12 will focus on kids. The director is looking for six men, one woman, and one girl between 8 and 11 years old.  Anyone interested in working with the technical crew should also come to the auditions and meet the director, who can be reached at 801- 835-7672 for more details about "Wait Until Dark."

"Wait Until Dark" will run Fridays and Saturdays in October (7, 8, 14, 15, 22, 23, 28, 29) at The Warehouse.

Dan Varas, originally from the Salt Lake City, Utah, area,  serves on the Westside Players Board of Directors, and directed Westside's successful comedy "Move Over, Mrs Markham". At Westside, Varas has played the unwitting lodger in 'Cash on Delivery", and the diabolical art agent in "Art of Murder". For Old Town Actor's Studio he directed "Cannibal: The Musical". Dan is a skilled maker of puppets, writer, and now works in the Children

Next weekend, August 13 & 14, Boise Little Theater auditions for the comic thriller "The Butler Did It", directed by Andrea Haskett. 2pm each day at the theater. She's looking for 4 men and 2 women of adult ages.
And at the end of this month, August 31 & September 3 , Opera Idaho's Children's Chorus auditions for the 2011-2012 season. If your child is a singer, or wants to be a singer, you should seriously look into this opportunity. The Chorus is conducted by Linda Berg, one of the best vocal teachers you'll ever find.
