Utah Theatre Auditions

The Grand Theatre will hold auditions for "The Wizard of Oz" on Saturday, June 11 from 10: 00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Grand Theatre Alumni Room located at 1575 South State Street in Salt Lake City. All roles are open.  Children age 8 and older are welcome to audition.

Actors should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a musical theatre piece and read from the script. Sides from the script will be posted on June 6.  All actors must bring a current headshot, and resumes are highly recommended. All conflicts need to be made known at time of audition. Disney ABC Television Group Casting Project auditions for Los Angeles Talent Showcase

June 8, 2011
Disney ABC Television Group’s highly coveted Casting Project is accepting headshots and resumes for consideration to audition for the ABC Talent Showcase. Participants for each talent showcase must be at least 18 years old. Previous acting experience or training is required of all, but professional representation is not necessary.

The Casting Project identifies and develops culturally and ethnically diverse talent and actors with disabilities by having a talent showcase each year in Los Angeles. Selected participants perform one-act scenes for casting directors, talent agents, managers and other industry professionals. The actors chosen work with veteran directors for an intensive, three-week rehearsal process in preparation for the showcase.

The showcase features actors performing their one-act vignettes for invited casting directors, talent agents, managers and other industry professionals. Selected participants will be assigned a network executive from the Casting Department who will act as their mentor for one year. Additionally, participants will have access to various ABC and ABC Studios executives.

Various workshops also will be scheduled throughout the year for the actors to further hone their craft. As a direct result of the Casting Project, 90% of ABC Talent Showcase actors have either auditioned for, or were cast as, a series regular, recurring or guest role on primetime and/or daytime television, as well as being cast in film and commercial roles. What’s more, 60% have either met or signed with agents.

Couple and Family of 4 needed for Stock Photo Shoot, OREGON

We are working with a Photographer that is looking for:
 
A good looking family. At least a good looking couple (30 or 40 something age range) with a couple kids (6-14 yrs old age range). This project will be for stock. Don't necessarily need to be an actual family. One aspect of the shoot will be near Pendleton, Oregon and they will need a Man and Woman for that - any ethnicity.  
 
Then part of the shoot that will include a family of 4 will be shot near Wasco, Oregon. Wasco is about 2 hrs east of Portland along the Columbia River Gorge. They will be shooting near a wind farm and in wheat fields. It'll be a really cool shoot.  
 
Pay will be $20/hr. If you will be traveling far, we can figure something out for travel time/gas etc.

Characters

RUDI- Youngest (15-16 years old) of the three boys, Rudi has a very passionate nature. He leaps into things quickly. He is quick to get in fights and a little naïve, but also very courageous and optimistic. LEAD

KARL- The oldest (17-18 years old) of the three boys, who also feels he is the most worldly wise. He has a strong sense of justice and truth, but unlike Rudi, he is much more cynical about the world and what he can do to change it. LEAD

HELMUTH- The middle boy in age (16-17 years old) but the leader of the group, Helmuth is a boy of ideas who questions and searches and thinks. You get the feeling that his brain never stops working, but he does not take himself too seriously. LEAD

MARIE WOBBE (MUTTI)- Rudi’s widowed mother (mid 30’s to mid 40’s). She has had to work very hard, but has not forgotten how to laugh. She is a woman of great perception and strength, but in spite of her faith, she does not always have the courage to face her fears.

HEINRICH WORBS- Church leader where the boys attend. (early to late 60’s) The world for Heinrich is very black and white. He is outspoken and very direct, without worrying what other people think of him. He loves to be perceived as gruff, but dearly loves these boys.

PRESIDENT MULLER- Leader of the boys’ church congregation. (mid 30’s – late 40’s) He is a good man who cares deeply for the people he leads and believes the Nazis will bring prosperity to the German people once again. There is a little pride lurking under the love and concern.

WANGEMANN & MUESSENER-  The Gestapo agents who track down, arrest and interrogate the boys. (late 30’s – late 40’s). Wangemann uses physical methods of interrogation, while Muessener prefers to try and gain their trust to trick them into confessing.

ALVAR LIDELL- BBC Radio announcer. (30’s – 40’s. British RP accent required). For him, the pleas to the German people are not just news to read, but something deeply personal.

HANS- Rudi’s fellow prisoner. (30’s – 60’s) He has seen and experienced a lot of suffering, but managed to remain unshaken.
