Drama Short - Troubles at home convince a twelve-year-old boy to run away with his imaginary friend. As their goal of reaching the ocean becomes unattainable, their resolve will be tested and their friendship challenged.

The film is a low-budget pay project with a guaranteed premiere at the Rose Wagner in front of a sold-out crowd in November 2011. Pay will be worked out per individual Actor selected.

Casting for the roles of:

THOMAS- Age range: 10-15
Thomas has always been neglected and mistreated by his parents, making him very shy. He is very quiet and only lets himself go around his imaginary friend, Erik.

ERIK Age range: 10-15
Erik is Thomas' imaginary friend. He likes to play and have fun, but will be the first to take charge when in a serious situation.

KAREN Age range: 29-35
Karen is Thomas' mother. She had Thomas at a young age with her then-boyfriend, Sam. She has never really cared to much about her son, but more for her relationship with Sam.

SAM Age range: 30-40
Sam is Thomas' father. He doesn't seem to care about anything other than himself. Not even his wife and son.

This is the first in a series of SAG short films being produced by the members of the Ogden Film Group working closely with local production companies.

 

 

[SIDNEY] ANY ETHNICITY. In his 20s, college student trying to study at a local coffee shop, but having a difficult time focusing on his task at hand. Steps outside for a “smoke break” and meets LARRY. Naturally, a bit reluctant toward conversation when he first meets LARRY. 1st of the two main characters. 8 lines, 3 scenes.

[LARRY] ANY ETHNICITY. In his 40s – 50s, Outspoken, Southern homeless man who strikes up a conversation with SIDNEY while trying to bum a cigarette. He exudes a type of personality that has been “saved by Jesus”. He is very chatty and happy to be in conversation with SIDNEY. 2nd of the two main characters. 16 lines, 1 scene.

 

 

STORY LINE: Twenty something college student, SIDNEY, is attempting to study in a local coffee shop, but is unable to concentrate. His mind is elsewhere. He steps outside to have a smoke break and meets LARRY, a homeless man in his 40s or 50s. LARRY starts up a conversation with SIDNEY in an attempt to bum a cigarette. SIDNEY is, at first, reluctant, but soon realizes there is more to LARRY than meets the eye…

 

NOTE: Both characters will need to appear to be smoking. Talent must feel comfortable with smoking or, at least, acting like they are. It will be a late evening/late night shoot. All talent must have open availability on 6/13 from 3pm on and should expect a late night. Call time TBD.

** The SAG Short Film contract allows the Producers to defer payment on the project (100.00) and still utilize SAG actors. The primary focus of the film is exhibition at Film Festivals as well as being utilized as an educational/team building tool. Since there is no intention of marketing the film commercially, the Producers don't anticipate making money on the project, however, if money is made, the SAG Short Film Contract will protect the SAG actors and ensure they get paid. There will be no cash outlay nor will we be making payments to actors in several weeks/months/etc. as part of the deferred agreement.

Beauty Fashion Hair Show needs Male and Female Models ages 18-28, BOISE

Tanzanite Salon and Spa is hosting a Fashion Hair Show in July and they need Models!
 
Males and Females ages 18-28 needed. All types of hair and styles needed!
Cut and Color and how much will be discussed between you and the stylist.
 
All Models will work as Volunteers for experience. The show is Benefiting the Women's and Children's Alliance and themed "Nothing is More Fashionable than Freedom!" All proceeds from the show will be given to the WCA. All Models will feature fashions and stylings of local clothing and accessory retailers and some of Boise's most talented stylists from Tanzanite Salon.
 
The show will be held on Friday, July 8 starting at 6:00pm and for the event (which is expecting about 1,000 people in attendance) they will shut down 8th St. between Idaho and Bannock where they will be building a runway along 8th street.
 
Model roster will include 25 Models and Chelsey Hersley of America's Next Top Model.
 
If you are interested in working the event as a Model and celebrating the freedom of fashion on one of Boise's most invigorating and exciting streets, you will need to attend a Casting on Sunday, June 5 at 12:00pm to see if you've got what they need.
