Pioneer Theatre Company Announces Auditions for the Musical
Next to Normal 
Music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey
 
Auditions for the pop-rock musical Next to Normal, the first show in Pioneer Theatre Company’s 2011-2012 season, will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Callbacks will be Thursday, June 16, 2011; that time will be announced to those called back.
 
Audition slots from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 are for Actors’ Equity members only. Audition slots from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. are open to all auditioners. The sign-up sheet will be posted by noon on Friday, June 7, 2011. Auditions will be held in Room 245 at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre.
 
Non-AEA auditioners must come in to sign up on the callboard in Room 325 at the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. AEA members ONLY may contact Elizabeth Williamson at elizabeth.williamson@ptc.utah.edu to sign up, STARTING Wednesday, June 8, 2011. (This feature is available for Actors’ Equity members only; please do not contact earlier than Wednesday, June 8, 2011.)
 
Auditioners will be asked to sing only one song to begin with, but should be prepared to sing two contrasting contemporary musical theatre selections: an up-tempo selection and a ballad. Pop-based styles are preferred (e.g. Jason Robert Brown, Stephen Schwartz, Elton John, etc., but not Stephen Sondheim, William Finn, etc.). Selections should show the auditioner’s ability to sing syncopated pop rhythms, as well as the extent of the singer's high, pop-style belt range. Dramatic non-theatre songs are also acceptable (e.g. Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, etc.). The audition slots are limited to three minutes.
 
An accompanist will be provided, but auditioners should bring their own sheet music and/or scores (neither will be provided by the theatre). A photo and résumé are recommended. The callback audition will involve dancing as well as singing from the score.
 
Rehearsal dates for the production are Monday, August 22, 2011 – Thursday, September 15, 2011; performance dates are September 16, 2011 – October 1, 2011. Guest artist Karen Azenberg will direct and choreograph the production; Larry Goldberg will be the musical director.
 
All roles are currently available; all auditioners must be 18 or older.

Trampoline Photo Shoot, Males and Females ages 13-17, UTAH

We are working with a Photographer who has a shoot coming up in north Orem, Utah in a backyard on Wednesday, June 1 or Thursday, June 2.
 
Its a trampoline shoot where they will need various talent jumping, doing various poses and sports, etc. 
 
Attached are a few sample shots. Looking for any age 13-17, any gender, any ethnicity.

In order to make this shoot work, it is EXTREMELY important to know if you play a certain sport or maybe have access to a certain sports uniform, such as Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Lacrosse, Tennis, Golf, Running. They are also really looking for talent that are good Skateboarders, Skiers, Snowboarders, who are comfortable jumping with their gear on a trampoline. Also some shots with business attire, general fitness shots. Dancers and gymnasts would be great for this too.

Short Film Casting, Hispanic Males and Females, UTAH

CASTING CALL
 
El Murcielago is a short horror film based on W.W. Jacobs classic short story, "The Monkey's Paw." The film follows a cursed mummified bat from the black-magic rich area of Catemaco, Mexico, north of the border to El Paso, Texas.
 
The bat has the ability to grant the wishes of anyone who possesses it, but with each wish, there are terrible consequences. Is there money involved? Of course. Death? You know it. A re-animated corpse? They can't give away all the fun.
 
Casting for 4 Lead Actors
 
JAMES- 17-21 years old. A very Americanized Mexican Teen. He is developing a nasty attitude that is about to catch up with him.
 
MARIA- 35-45 years old. James' Mother. She has been in the U.S. for years, but clings to Mexican traditions.
 
NICOLAS- 35-45 years old. James' Father. He is a hard working immigrant about to face forces he could not imagine.
 
ARMANDO- 40-55 years old. Maria's uncle. He has just crossed the border with a very sinister package.
 
Auditions on Saturday, May 21 in Provo on the BYU Campus from 9:00pm-- 12:00pm
 
Auditions on Saturday, May 21 in Salt Lake City from 2:00pm- 5:00pm
 
El Murcielago will be shooting for 3-4 days at the end of June. The budget allows for $100- $150 per day for the main characters.
 
The film will be entered into a number of film festivals. In addition to the many general film festivals across the country, the subject matter and setting will make the film eligible for genre specific festivals including horror, and Hispanic festivals. Production is confident that the film will be enjoyed by a large and diverse audience.

Extras for "Imaginge" Short Film, UTAH

Looking for actors who would be interested in being an EXTRA in a Short film, “IMAGINE.” Will be shooting in Park City, Utah at the “Peoples Health Clinic,” And need only a total of 10 EXTRAS. 


 As of now the dates are not 100% locked (Date could possibly change). But, as of now, the date will be JULY-11-2011 (Monday). This is a non-paid job, but all “extras” will receive a credit on IMDB and also be listed in the end credits of the film.

Currently seeking talent for “IMAGINE”   an independent short (30 min) film. Created by Jahanara Saleh, Jonathan Steven Green, Austin James Green.

 

Our intention in producing this film is for film festivals. We will be submitting the film to around 40 film festivals.  We produce great, professional level work and are looking for people who can produce the same quality of work.

 

 

SYNOPSIS

 

Imagine: A physiological drama, is about John Morris, a paramedic, who lives under a cloud of guilt after being unable to save his daughter, Brooke, From drowning at a public pool. The guilt from her death has left him numb and has shattered his relationship with his wife, Kate. Through Charged water, water that has been influenced by specific thoughts or energy, an experiment held by Dr. Arlen, John begins to connect with his daughter in an unknown world. 

 

Through the reoccurring events in the unknown world he becomes convinced that he has the ability to change the events that have happened in the past. Confident that he can prevent her from drowning he tries to convince Kate that he can make everything the way it used to be.

Short Film Casting, Males and Females ages 20-60, UTAH

Spy Hop Productions presents

Casting Call: “Delayed”

 

Dark Comedy Short  - A rock band on the way to the biggest show of their lives is delayed when their car inconveniently catches on fire in the middle of the desert and their lead singer, Alan, is kidnapped. After an incoherent phone call from Alan, the rest of the band have to put the pieces back together to rescue him and get back on the road in time for their show.

 

The film is a low-budget pay project with a guaranteed premiere at the Rose Wagner in front of a sold-out crowd in November 2011.

 

Pay will be $75/day at 1-7 days depending on the character. Exact number is unknown at this point.

 

Casting for the roles of:

 

ALAN: Age: 20-30. Alan is natural leader and is a slightly self-absorbed.

 

BEKAH: Age: 20-30. Bekah is likeable but has a low tolerance for things that annoy her and can become very bad-tempered.

 

CASEY: Age: 20-30. Casey is carefree and starts hallucinating half way through the movie.

 

STEPHEN: Age: 30-60. Stephen is unintelligent and has a southern accent.

 

PABLO: Age: 30-60. Pablo is composed, intelligent, and has a Canadian accent.

 

SHUAN: Age: 30-60. Shaun is physically huge, but isn’t as scary as he looks and is timid by nature.

 

Casting will be held in Downtown Salt Lake City on Wednesday, May 18 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM.
