Prototype:  “The Good Samaritan”

The LDS Church is entering pre-production on the film project,

“The Parable of the Good Samaritan”

A short story based on the scriptural account found in Luke 10: 30-37.  They seek a broad variety of cast who resemble the cultures and races represented within the scriptural account, namely: Semitic, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, and others of Middle Eastern/Southern European/North African origin.

They seek ALL possible candidates for a variety of roles: Actors and Extras. 

CHARACTERISTICS

Generally, they seek individuals with darker hair and eye color, olive or brown skin tone, the ability to grow a beard (for men), and other common Semitic characteristics are desired, although not required.

They seek talent who strongly resemble the ancient Mediterranean peoples of North Africa, the Middle East, and Southern Europe. Specifically, they seek individuals with the following physical traits:

• Skin coloration with an “olive” or “brown” tone;

• A prominent nose and bone structure;

• Typically black (or very dark) hair, unless it is graying;

• Prominent (or full) eyebrows.

If you fit these characteristics and would be interested in participating, please follow all directions below to apply online. 

For this project, it is not required that they be members of the LDS Church.

The LDS Church Audiovisual Department is conducting auditions for a video to be shown at the Los Angeles Temple Visitor’s Center entitled “God’s Plan For Families.” 

They are looking for a 5-7 year old girl with light brown to red hair and a fair complexion.

When: Thursday, April 15 from 2:00pm-5:30pm (would like talent to arrive as possible)

Where: Provo, Utah

Shoot Dates:  Local shoot-Thursday, April 22nd, Friday, April 23rd

Rate:  $300/day for shoot days; $150/day for travel days

Location Shoot (Las Vegas)-Wednesday, April 28th; travel days April 27th and 29th. MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SHOOT AND TRAVEL DATES.

Utah Theatre Opportunities

ANNOUNCING AUDITIONS FOR SUNDANCE THEATRE’S “BIG RIVER”

General casting call will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, April 17 at the UVU Noorda Theatre (Southeastern corner of campus) with specific Callbacks a week later.
Performances begin July 30, Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through August 20. All roles are compensated for rehearsal and performances.

Those interested should prepare 16 bars of their best Broadway, folk or gospel music. Accompanist will be provided or CD minus tracks are welcome.

Looking to cast:
5 Males – Ages: 30-60,
1 Male – African American – Ages 25-35,
5 Males – Ages 16-18,
2 Females – Ages 25-55,
1 African American Female– Age 25-35,
1 – African American Female – Age 14-18,
3 Females – Ages 16-25.
Musicians: 1 Fiddle Player, 1 Harmonica Player, 1 Guitar Player. Musicians must read music.

All performers must be strong singers and well acquainted with movement, dance and characterization. Most performers will carry double, even triple roles. Rehearsals will be held evenings and begin in mid-June at UVU in Orem.

A Midsummers Night's Dream auditions with South Jordan Community Theatre will be Thursday, April 22 from 6:00pm -9:00pm at Early Light Academy (11709 S. Vadania Drive in South Jordan.) 

Performances will be at the South Jordan Community Center August 6, 7/2 performances, 9, 13, 14/2 performances, 16 and 17, 2010. Rehearsals will begin July 6 M-Th and Saturdays. 

The part of Peter Quince has been cast.  All others roles are open.  Directed by Kevin Dudley.

We are working with a major Utah distributor that is in need of Female Promo Models, 21-30 for fun Club/Bar Promotional events featuring their various products.
 
Looking for attractive Models with fun, engaging personalities, who are not afraid to have a good time, interact with crowds and give out free stuff.
 
Promotions run throughout the year and can turn into a great side money making opportunity, especially as a networking tool. Their next events are planned for the final weeks of April.
 
Most of their events happen on Friday and/or Saturday evenings. Plan on working about 2 hours each event and you will be paid $50 per event you work. They generally hire 2 girls per event and the clients are always in attendance with the girls to make sure they are well taken care of.
 
They are looking to put together a group of 4-5 girls that are trained, have the right look, personality and can be available for events/promotions when needed.
 
Interviews for these positions will be held within the next week.
 
This is a major Client and could lead to more opportunities throughout the year.

Casting has been inundated by applications for this project and have had a few technical glitches come up. These are now fixed, and SLcasting@LDSchurch.org is fully operational.  Please take notice of the new method they have set up and how they would like all Craze Agency Talent to apply.

The LDS Church is entering early pre-production on a very large film project. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POSTING FOR DETAILS.

“The New Testament”

Based on the events of the New Testament, to be produced near Salt Lake City, UT. They are seeking a broad variety of cast who resemble the cultures and races represented within the scriptural account, namely: Semitic, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, and others of Middle Eastern/Southern European/North African origin.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

LOCAL and NON-LOCAL

Near or far, they need you! They are currently exploring the possibility of providing food and lodging for those who may require it during the production. More information about this will be available late 2010.

PAYMENT

All positions will be PAID based on their standard rate card.

TIME TABLE

Shooting begins Spring 2011. They are gathering cast and extras potentials now in order to alert participants to important benchmark dates and respond early to questions such as…

·        When do I start growing my hair?

·        Where and when will the productions take place so I can arrange my work schedule?

·        In which production(s) am I cast (or extra)?

·        What should I bring?  …wear?  …expect?

·        Where will I stay?

·        How long will I be needed?

·        How much will I be paid?

·        etc.

LDS MEMBERSHIP

The hiring process for both active, worthy members of the LDS Church and non-member candidates remains consistent with previous practice. There are two paths by which a candidate may participate:

  1. As an employee: The LDS Church can only hire as employees members of the Church who are 'temple worthy', as determined by their ecclesiastical leader.
  2. As an independent contractor: Candidates who are affiliated with a legitimate talent agency or have an active business license can be contracted as independent contractors.

Proof of compliance with employment/contracting criteria will be obtained once contact has been made.

John Carter of Mars, Paid Extra Work, Utah

Looking for paid extras for the movie, "John Carter of Mars."

pay is 101.50 a day.

This movie will be shooting in Wahweap, Utah (lake Powell), you will be required to go to wardrobe fittings in Page, Arizona between April 19-23 for one day (you will be paid for the day you travel for fittings too.)

No gas money just the day rate.

You do not have to live in Southern Utah to do the show but it will be on your own dime for travel and hotels.

They are looking for good looking, dark haired, tan people ages 18-35 yrs old Male and Female. They need people who have flexible schedules. You will need to be able to work on Monday, April 26, 2010 and Monday, May 3, 2010. Both shoots will be near wahweap (Lake Powell). YOU MUST WORK BOTH DAYS!!

If you are interested, Craze Agency can submit a photo of you to Casting. The photo  needs to be a 1/2 body shot that was taken in the last 3 weeks of you and it must show your body enough that they can see your in shape.

Auditions for Independent Film, Nampa, Idaho

"Clear as Mudd Films" is holding open auditions for their sci-fi/action/comedy about zombies! (working title Project XIII)
These Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 17th and Saturday, April 24th from 1:00pm-7:00pm. You can sign up for any time within those hours, unless a certain time gets very busy. As of right now all time slots are still relatively open

If interested in auditioning for a speaking role please follow these instructions:
    -take a look at the character list below
    -chose which character or characters you're interested in auditioning for.
    -Send an email with your... name, Date and time you will be auditioning, the characters you want to try out for, and a photo if you have one.

    -Then, wait for an email in which they will send you excerpts from the script for the characters you chose. They will also give you directions to the auditions.
    -after that, get as prepared as you need to and come to your scheduled audition time

Please keep in mind this film has a very low budget and they will not be able to pay any of the actors.
Also keep in mind that if you are not cast in a speaking role, there will still be a part in the movie offered to you if you want to take it. Everyone is welcome.

If you do not want to audition for a speaking role, you simply need to give them some info so they can contact you for the cast meeting. If you only wish to be a zombie or non-zombie extra you don't need to audition.

Survivors (plus Ned)

Ned/Dr. Fox- (age 30 or above) Ned is the friendly zombie that accompanies the group. he was originally Dr. Fox, the scientist working on the serum and was forced to become the test subject. he was the first zombie, but still has conscious control of his actions and doesn’t eat people. LEAD

Ellie Whitmore- (age 18-25) Ellie is a biology major and Nick’s Debate partner. She is also the love interest of Nick. Her father Dr. James Whitmore is one of the scientists that was working on the serum “project X” she is very intelligent and relies on logic rather than firepower to stay alive. LEAD

Penny- (age 9-13) Penny Is found with a group of pre-teen bandits that attempt to rob the boys. After Ned scares the rest of the bandits off, Penny is left to die and of course Nick and Derek offer their companionship. LEAD

Mike Wood- (age 20-30) Mike is found accompanying Carmen. They are romantically involved. upon the first encounter with a group of zombies Mike is bitten and asks Carmen to shoot him so he doesn't transform.

Theodore “Theo” Robson- (age 18-30) Theo is also accompanying Carmen and Mike. He has become mentally unstable due to the outbreak. the only thing keeping him from snapping is his friendship with mike. after mike is shot he disjoins the group and later re-appears wanting to kill them.

The Boss- (age 10-14) The boss is the leader of the young bandits that attempt to rob the boys.

Lou- (age 8-12) One of the bandits that attempts to rob the boys

Sparkplug- (age 10-14) another bandit that attempts to rob the boys.


Doctors, Scientists and Politicians

Dr. James Whitmore- (age 30 or above) The lead scientist on project x. he is also Ellie’s father. He is the lapdog of General Masterson and does everything the General tells him.

General Masterson- A General of the United States Military. He works at the pentagon and was put in charge of the Micro-Managed Project X. It is due to his stubbornness that the virus spreads.

Dr. Croft- (age early 20s or above gender neutral) The boys meet Doctor Croft when they hear a radio broadcast advertising a refugee camp and clinic. after he/she finds out about the Boys’ immunity he/she attempts to kill them and use their blood to formulate a cure

Dr. Samantha Anderson- (age 30 or above) Nick and Derek’s mother went to the Boise refugee camp to help survivors and attempt to make a cure

Guard #1-(any age) one of croft’s military guards

Guard #2-(any age) one of croft’s military guards

Guard #3- (any age) one of croft’s military guards

Billings-(any age) one of Masterson’s bodyguards

Extras- there will be extra doctors and military men about 20-30 total-these extras may also be cast a zombies

zombies- 

They  will need somewhere between 30 to 300 actors to play zombies, most will act as different zombies in multiple scenes-they may also be cast as non-zombie extras.

Production is currently looking for paid extras for the movie, "John Carter of Mars." Pay is 101.50 a day.
