Short Film Casting, Rubberball Productions, Utah

March 3, 2010
Here are the casting details for an upcoming short film Rubberball Productions is producing.

Characters:

1.  Female, 45-55 years old, Caucasian:  This woman will be playing the part of the main character's mother. Looking for someone in the "Frances McDormand" mold, but most importantly they are looking for someone that can pull off the part of a mother in a small town.
2.  Male, 20-30 years old, Caucasian:  This person will be cast in the part of a bully.  He's a recently graduated from high school bully that has nothing better to do than to stick around and keep bullying those he used to bully in high school.  Think a more rural, small town version of "Biff Tannen."  This person should be bigger in stature, but once again, hoping to find someone that can bring the right attitude to the part.
3.  Male, 20-30 years old, Caucasian:  This person will be cast as the bully's weasel sidekick.  This male should be a scrawny, weasel-y kind of guy that follows the bully around and laughs a lot.  He should be shorter and skinnier than the bully.
4.  Female, 20-25 years old, Caucasian:  This person will be cast as the annoying girl that has a crush on the main character. Need someone that can bring quirk and authenticity (not too over the top and theatrical) to a character that talks too much and too fast.

The mother, the bully, and the "annoying" girl  we will have script parts that need to be memorized.
As far as the overall scope of the film goes, it will be done primarily as a promo piece (something that can be included in their demo reel), but also as a test piece to try out different techniques and gear.  As such, their budget doesn't exceed what they have normally for one of their stock shoots.

Pay will be $20/hr.

Talent have 3 options of Casting dates and times you can attend:
    Thursday, March 4- 9:00am- 5:00pm. Open
    Friday, March 5- 9:00am- 12:00noon. Open
    Monday, March 8- 9:00am- 5:00pm. Open

If you are interested, fit any of the above roles and could be available for a casting, email crazeagency@sisna.com or bookings@crazeagency.com your:

    Name
    Age
    Role you are interested in

We will submit your info. to casting for consideration. If selected for a casting, we will contact you with details.

Utah Theatre Opportunities

March 3, 2010
Wasatch Theatre Company announces auditions for Sarah Ruhl’s “Dead Man’s Cell Phone”

An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet café. A stranger at the next table who has had enough. And a dead man – with a lot of loose ends. So begins Dead Man’s Cell Phone, a wildly imaginative new comedy by MacArthur “Genius” Grant recipient and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Sarah Ruhl, author of The Clean House and Eurydice. A work about how we memorialize the dead – and how that remembering changes us – it is the odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world.

Open auditions for Wasatch Theatre Company’s production of Dead Man’s Cell Phone will be Thursday, March 11th, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 13th, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in Studio B at the Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts (138 West 300 South).

Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script.

Call 801-446-5657 with questions.

Utah Theatre Opportunities

March 1, 2010
Auditions will be held Tuesday, March 2nd for the regional premier of “Gee!”—an intimate play with music (plot below).

Director Beth Bruner asks you to bring a one-to-two minute monologue, or join with another auditioner for a two-to-three minute scene.  Those auditioning for Noel and G will also be asked to do sixteen bars of a number from the 20s, 30s, or 40s, and possibly some dance movement.

Auditions are at Holladay City Hall (4580 S 2300 E) from 7 pm until 9 pm.  (Come in the door on the back [west] side).

Roles available are:

G—twenties, an entertainer with lots of talent and a touch star-struck (singer/dancer)
Fanny—fifties, a determined woman who was a pioneer in a male field, sure of herself and a bit of a bulldozer
Noel—fifties, still debonair and a brilliant entertainer, but also a bit tired after so many years in the public eye (singer/dancer)
Richard—fifties, a banker and producer  (MUST be able to do a good slow getting drunk then sober)
Waiter—twenties/thirties, sweet and interested in G

Plot:

Shortly after the 1953 death of famous actress/singer Gertrude Lawrence, her lawyer (Fanny) arranges a meeting at a New York theater bar between herself, Gertie’s husband (Richard), and her oldest friend (Noel Coward).  The bar is empty, because the customers are at Broadway shows.  The pianist and a singer (G) are practicing old show songs.  Fanny recognizes the pianist as Noel and Gertie’s old accompanist.  She asks them to perform Gertie songs during the meeting as she ’s trying to get Noel to write another play, and Richard to come back to actively producing, and she thinks remembering Gertie will encourage them.  Over the course of the evening many numbers are done (Noel joining G after a while), Richard gets drunk, Noel re-enacts Shakespeare performances—and by the end Richard has convinced Fanny to get him out of his theatrical commitments so he can take a diplomatic job, and Noel has had a brilliant idea for a play about an artist with many different periods (Nude with Violin).  G is left forgotten, singing “someday I’ll find you, again. . .”

Thanks to all of you that have previously followed all of the directions below it has already helped us immensely to promote each of you!

If you have updated your profile and it is current you do not have to read any further unless you would like to get on the http://www.crazeagency.com  website which we highly, highly recommend!

If you are newer to Craze Agency or have not yet followed the steps below please do not wait any longer!!!!

If you do not follow these steps you probably will not get work and will eventually be taken off the agency list (we do not want this to happen)!

In the past we have been asked a lot of questions on this post, most of them can be answered below so please read everything carefully.

You must read the entire EMAIL!

Please make a copy of this for your future reference! The first part of the email pertains to the database the last part the website, they are totally different!!!!!!!!!

This is how our clients choose who goes on AUDITIONS AND BOOKS JOBS!

We are now using an amazing database system that will allow us to generate and send out a very detailed list to our hiring clients on you. You must go into our website and fill out as much of the information that it asks for. Here are a few examples of the thousands of ways this will help all of us to increase your bookings and auditions.

If a client is looking for an Male Asian experienced actor age 40-55 5'10"- 6'0" or if the client is looking for a Female Model 5'8" to 5'9" age 16-19 size 4-5 with Blonde hair and Blue eyes with runway experience it will pull up a detailed list of all the people in the agency that exactly meet this criteria. This will also pull up an individual list of Extras or Models, Actors, Females, Children, Caucasians, etc. The clients can also see your resume in our database.

We asked our clients what we could do to help them book you more and this is what they want.  If you do not input the information requested you will never show up on the searches and this will dramatically hurt or eliminate your chances. We are the local leader in this detailed technology.

This database does not cost you anything!

Please remember to read the entire email so that you will not be confused about the difference between the database and website!

Go to http://www.crazeagency.com  and on the top left side of the page you will insert your user name. Your user name will be your first name with the first letter capitalized and then your last name no spaces in between your names with the first letter in your last name capitalized.

Some examples would be Steve Smith user name is SteveSmith, or Janet Thompson user name JanetThompson .

Now put in your password, it will be the first three letters in your first name with the first letter capitalized and then with no space put in your full last name. An example would be Steve Smith would have a password of SteSmith or Janet Thompson would be JanThompson .

Now click login.

This will pull up a new page welcoming you and at the top left corner you will see edit profile, click that and it will pull up your page. Now you can enter your important data. Please accurately update this information anytime it changes. Fill in as much data as possible. You will see there are columns for things like your address and phone and email etc.

This is how we will contact you; it must be up to date. If it ever changes you need to update it immediately also email us and let us know. The vital information is only for Craze Agency and will never be given out to clients except your phone number if they need to directly call you and they have our permission

If you are new with Craze or it does not work give it about 7-14 days if it does not work then, email us at crazeagency@sisna.com and we will put you in manually. Be patient we have been putting in over 100,000 statistics on all of you the last 7 months! If you have a really long name it may need us to adjust it for you the first time!

After you have accurately entered all of your information you may change your password if you wish, so that no one except you and the agency can get into your information. Please write down your password and save it, we do not have time to look up login and passwords!

Finally after you have inputted all of your information you must scroll to the bottom of the page and SAVE CHANGES.

This is a database system that Craze uses to help our hiring clients know more about you.

This is not part of the Craze Agency website.

We have worked overtime to keep this as simple as possible. Please follow these directions we do not have time to direct you and answer questions, we want to spend our time promoting you.

Print a copy of this Email and save it in a safe place.

THE REMAINING EMAIL IS A TOTALLY SEPARATE OPPORTUNITY.

It will help you with increased exposure and the opportunity to be booked on more paying jobs! We highly recommend that you get on the Agency WEBSITE!

Please read on for website information. If you have already paid to be on the website your info is already on the site.

If you are not on the site you can be added to the site for a one-time lifetime cost of $125 dollars, as long as you are in good standing with us and still represented by the Craze Agency. This is an incentive special and the price will go back to $295 per year after March 12, 2010.

*This technology is very expensive and goes directly to the Webmaster  to create your section on the website and individual page. They also  continually maintain and improve the site.

We highly encourage you to be on our website, most of our clients use the website constantly and we have seen a continual shift to using the Internet to get you auditions. Like everything we additionally offer the talent, it is not mandatory, but highly encouraged that you are on the http://www.crazeagency.com  website for us to promote you more effectively.
