Casting Call for Kids Grades 3-7, Utah

February 16, 2010

OPEN CASTING CALL FOR KIDS GRADES 3 - 7

 

Imagine Learning, an educational software company in Provo, is holding an open casting call for children in grades 3 through 7.   All ethnicities are welcome.   Auditions will be held on Monday, February 22nd from 3 – 5 pm in Provo. 

 

The project will be shot over several weeks beginning in the spring (exact dates to be determined). 

 

Looking to Cast 6-8 kids of various ethnicities, genders, and ages.   Current pay is $10/hour.   Shooting location still to be decided.   Chosen talent should have the ability to travel often to either Provo or Salt Lake depending on where they end up shooting.

           

Important information for this project:

            *   Talent must have VERY clear enunciation/pronunciation.

            *   Cannot use anyone with a lisp, slur, accent, and so forth.

            *   Talent must have lots of focused energy and a happy personality.

           

This is a great way to build your professional acting resume.   They have a lot of fun on their shoots, but expect talent to behave professionally and with maturity.

Two Medieval Plays

Directed by Richard Clifford

Open auditions March 25; special concessions will be made for performers in Children of Eden who would like to audition.

AUDITIONS will be by appointment; watch for a sign-up sheet a few weeks prior to the audition. Walk-ins can be accomodated only as time allows.

To prepare:

Read the plays. Both plays are easily accessible online or available through the Theatre Script Library.

Prepare two contrasting monologues (one contemporary and one classical), each about one minute in length (see audition guidelines below).

Auditions will be evaluated using the following criteria:

• Ability to urgently pursue strong, clear objectives.

• Ability to make varied, specific and bold acting choices.

• Mastery of an expressive and flexible vocal and physical instrument.

• Demonstration of facility with language and a clear understanding of the text.

• Demonstration of range and contrast.

CALLBACKS will be by invitation March 26

Rehearsals begin March 30

The show runs May 26-29, June 1-5

Now accepting resumes for production stage manager. Bring application materials to Snow 126. More information about time and place will come as we get closer to the audition.

Please note:

• This is an open call. Non-majors, staff, faculty, and friends may audition, although casting preference will always be given to qualified, current, on-track students and to majors.  

• All participants—even non-students and off-track students—will commit to adhere to BYU-Idaho standards while on campus.  

• Rehearsals will run over Conference Weekend. There will be no conflicts with the broadcast sessions, but it will be very difficult to attend any live sessions in SLC.  

• If you have conflicts with any of these dates, please audition for another show.  

• All roles are available; see cast list for more information.

• Participants who are current students will be required to take up to 2 credits of TA260R, 360R, or 460R.

The second Male actor 20-30...Younger or older...doesn't really matter...

U of U Student Director looking for Actors, Utah

Emmett Davis, a film student at the University of Utah is doing a one minute piece that will be filmed on Wednesday, 2/17 in the afternoon (flexible with times).

There is no dialogue, and shooting will take approximately one hour. The scene will be shot at a bus stop in the city.

In need of 4 actors total, for three of them their age does not matter, but for one he would prefer for them to be over the age of 30.

Craze has been looking into and researching potential opportunities to audition for the 4th film of the Twilight Saga: "Breaking Dawn."
 
Below is some information that we have found and would like to let you know about. We will update you with additional information as it is released. Do not inundate us with questions, we will let you know, when we know.

It's official! "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" production has been greenlt. Breaking Dawn will be made into 2 films shot back-to-back starting in October, 2010. The filming locations and exact dates for the acting auditions, etc. have not been confirmed.
 
The Breaking Dawn's director has yet to be officially announced, however sources say the Gus Van Sant has signed on.
 
A new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought on board for Breaking Dawn. Sunswept Entertainment was created by Karen Rosenfelt, who is the daughter of former MGM Chairman & CEO Frank Edward Rosenfelt. Karen Rosenfelt served as Producer on both "Twilight" and on "The Twilight Saga" Eclipse." She did not work on "New Moon," but is producing "Breaking Dawn" through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.
 
There will likely be massive acting auditions/talent searches for the role of Renesmee Cullen, the half-vampire, half-human daughter of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, just as there was auditions for the roles of Seth and Leah Clearwater in, "Eclipse" (which Craze has some Actors audition for). Many other new roles are also to be cast, as there are a large number of additional vampire characters in Breaking Dawn.
 
We will update you, when new info. develops.

Will be holding an open cast call on Wednesday, February 17 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, for a short, independent film, "Hegira.". Most participants will not be compensated for their time as this film is being made strictly for the opportunity for participants to build upon their portfolios and gain experience in the filmmaking industry.

Casting for the lead roles are as follows:

Commander – Age 30 and up
Lead Man – Age 20 - 45
Lead Woman – Age 20 - 45
Supporting Role of “The Watcher” – Age 20 - 35

Casting for secondary roles are as follows:

Party Leader Distinguished – Age 40 and up
Six Troopers – Young, Tough and Fit age 25 and up

Casting will be held at this address in Midvale, UT:

7440 South, Union Park Ave, Suite #300 on the third floor (right next to Sweet Tomatoes). This place can be hard to find but if you can find Sweet Tomatoes, their building is to the left of it.

Because this film has very little dialogue, they are looking for Actors/Actresses with strong, on-film, facial expression skills.
 
Be prepared to perform silent acting exercises at the casting.
 
Casting is providing brief storyboards for the audition. You will have 1-3 minutes to interpret these actions and character arcs. Craze can provide these to you before your audition.

Girls Needed For Mardi Gras Party

Local Boise client is hosting what is turning into a rather large Mardi Gras party.
 
They are looking to hire 4-5 Promo Models to set the party atmosphere.
 
You must be at least 21 and be available from 6:00pm- 12:00midnight on Fat Tuesday, February 16.
 
Pay is $100 for the evening.
 
It is a themed party so masks, beads, and outrageous costumes are encouraged. If you don't have anything the client may be able to provide you with some costume items.
