It's time, once again, for Voice Over Auditions for LDS Talent!

As always, all participants need to be temple worthy members of the LDS Church and be between the ages of 5 and up!

ABOUT THESE VOICE OVER AUDITIONS

These are not designed to audition you for any specific role or project.  Voice Over Auditions provide casting with a current voice sample from you.  This sample will be used internally to assist with future project casting.  This will assist them with future casting needs in light of upcoming projects.  Your voice sample will be kept on file and presented to producers and clients looking for voice talent.

Please audition ONLY if you have had voice over training or experience.

To Submit an Audition:

Record the copy on one of the attached pages and email only one take  (.wav, .mp3, .mp4, .wma formats accepted) to avdcasting@ldschurch.org by March 1, 2010 with the following information:

Additionally, if you have your own short (about 60 seconds) demo already recorded, you may use that for your audition.  If you choose this option, please ensure that there is no inappropriate content in your demo.  Demos with inappropriate content will not be kept or presented to producers or clients.

If you need to change or cancel your scheduled audition time, please extend the courtesy of notifying us as soon as possible.  Due to the high number of applicants we cannot guarantee there will be an opening available later in the day if you miss a scheduled appointment.

New Project Casting, Males and Females, various ages, Utah

Local production company is currently casting for a low budget video shoot next Wednesday, January 20.  It is for a startup company called Waiora, which specializes in health supplements.

Most of the shoot will be B-roll style (with VO) and there is very little dialogue.  Thus, the client won't be auditioning, but will be going off of head shots-looks.

"You're So Cupd" Screening, Utah

You're So Cupid, directed by John Lyde is going to the be the premiere film at the LDS Film Festival.

Wives, girlfriends, Mothers and daughters of all ages should really enjoy this film.

It is playing opening night, Wednesday January 20th at 7:00pm at the Scera Theater in Orem.  Tickets are half price for this showing.  It is also showing Saturday, Janurary 23rd at 7:30pm.

The Old Lyric Repertory Theatre Company 2010 Auditions, paid positions, Utah

The Old Lyric Repertory Company, base for an advanced theatre program at Utah State University, is hosting auditions in Salt Lake and Logan for the upcoming summer 2010 season.

Auditions in Salt Lake City are held in the Rose Wagner Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 24, from 10-2pm at the Rose Wagner Theatre, Studio B, 138 W. Broadway.

Auditions in Logan are held Saturday, January 30, from 10-2pm in the Black Box Theatre (Fine Arts Center 224 at Utah State University). Call backs begin at 4 pm.

Productions auditioning for: Blithe Spirit, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), Always…Patsy Cline, and The Mousetrap.

Talent needed for "Shadowcast" project, Utah

The Utah Scalpel SL,UT's are holding open auditions for their shadowcast of REPO! The Genetic Opera. Directed by Ryan Fallis.
 
 If you are unfamiliar with shadowcasting: A shadowcast is when a group of people perform a movie in front of a screen while that movie is playing; they essentially pantomime the movie. Most often seen during showings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. (Thank you Urban Dictionary).

Auditions will be Sunday Feb. 7 from 12:30-1:30pm at the Tower Theatre (876 E 900 S, SLC). Please e-mail Marill9999@msn.com  with the header 'REPO AUDITIONS' for an audition time.

Cast list will be announced no later than noon of Feb. 8.

The actors will need to help provide their own costumes if cast (working on very little budget).

Choose 30 seconds to a minute from a song(s) that includes the character(s) you would like to audition for. Then showcase yourself as that character(s) during the audition. Looking for acting and movement over singing ability. Need to be able to keep the attention of 350 audience members for an hour and a half. They require that everyone auditioning be in good health and be fine with a lot of movement. This show is very heavily choreographed.

The show will perform Friday May 28 (a midnight showing) and Saturday May 29 (an 8pm and midnight showing) at the Tower Theatre.

All parts except Shilo Wallace, Graverobber, and the Henchwomen are open. Multiple smaller parts may be offered to a single actor if cast.

NATHAN WALLACE: Shilo's father and a widower, having lost his wife Marni, a death which he blames himself for. He doubles as the head Repo Man. He often laments his late night duties, but a seeming multiple personality tends to take him over, leaving him a vicious killing machine as opposed to the kind-hearted, torn father.

ROTTI LARGO: The ailing GeneCo president, looking for a worthy heir. He sees his own children as "vultures" and "ingrates", and is bitter towards Nathan for stealing Marni from him. He is the one who poisoned Marni, in a jealous rage.

BLIND MAG: Born blind, Mag is given the ability to see by signing her life away in a contract to sing for GeneCo Genetic Opera. She is marked for repossession and is set to deliver her final performance for the company. She is Shilo's godmother and was best friends with Marni, when hearing of Rotti's decision to provide Shilo with a cure for her "blood disease" she risks enraging Nathan and Rotti by coming to Shilo's house and warning her not to make the same mistakes she did by taking Rotti's cure.

LUIGI LARGO: Rotti's eldest son, an abusive homicidal sociopath. He wields a knife at all times and is usually wearing an ascot. He will stab someone for something as little as getting his shirt messy or getting him the wrong coffee. He has a habit of often ripping open his shirt to change into a new one after repeatedly getting his shirt bloodied up, a trait costume designer Alex Cavanaugh attributed to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

PAVI LARGO: Rotti's youngest son, vacuous, effeminate and narcissistic. He wears a deceased woman's skinned face as a mask to cover his own face, which is horrendously scarred. Due to the way his face is attached, he is able to change faces on a whim. He is shown to be quite charismatic and somewhat of a lady-killer (both metaphorically and literally).

AMBER SWEET: Rotti's surgery and Zydrate-addicted daughter and Mag's rival. She obtains Zydrate illegally from Graverobber, with whom it is suspected she has a sexual relationship. Ironically she is also the face of the Zydrate support network.

MARNI WALLACE: Marni is Shilo's dead mother and Nathan's late wife. Her best friend was Mag, and she was fatally poisoned by an enraged Rotti, to whom she was engaged before breaking off the engagement and eloping with Nathan.

SINGLE MOTHER: Single mother is a GeneCo model who had originally come in for a kidney transplant, but ended up getting full-body surgery.

VANITY & VEIN REPORTER: A reporter that catches Rotti Largo during an embarrassing moment.

THE BAND LEADER: The band leader is easily excitable and very hyper, to the point where he is rendered short of breath. He begins the Genetic Opera.

GENECO DOCTOR: Rotti's nervous, trembling doctor who gives Rotti the news of his health, then he is killed by the henchwomen.

FEMALE VICTIM: A Repo victim who got a heart transplant, but couldn't pay her debt, so the Repo man comes for her.

MALE VICTIM: The actor will play three different victims throughout he show.

AMBER'S VALETS: Two men who will stand as Amber Sweet's 'shirtless' bodyguards.

GENETERNS: Beautiful GeneCo surgeon/models.

SCALPEL SLUTS: People who are addicted to the drug known as Zydrate.

Contract Dates and Salary

Rehearsal and performance dates may vary depending on the position and the specific production. Some shows will begin rehearsal as early as late March (shows open weekends in early May), while other shows may begin rehearsing as late as May 1, 2010 (shows open Memorial Day weekend). All candidates must be at least 16 years old by March 15, 2010. All positions are paid, with performers and technicians paid hourly for rehearsal and the season. Hours vary depending on the specific production and range from 24 to 40 hours per week for a six day work week. Some shows will play weekends only in the spring and fall, with hours adjusted accordingly. Average pay rate is $8 to $12 per hour, but varies according to position, experience and training.

This beautiful fairy tale about an emperor enchanted by a nightingale's song will be performed in Japanese kabuki theatre style.

Director Sara Edlin-Marlowe is looking for 12-15 actors ages 10 to adult. She also needs one ballerina to play the nightingale. This show is not a musical. Come prepared to do cold readings from the script and dress comfortably for dance/movement auditions. The Nightingale opens March 20th and plays Friday evenings and weekends through March 28th.

Director Dawn Taylor-Reinhart is looking for four children ages 8-16 and four adult actors: two men and two women. This show is not a musical. Come prepared to do cold readings from the script. The Boxcar Children opens May 22nd and plays weekends through June 6th.
