Seeking—
Joey Pesci/Ensemble: 20s-early 30s, must be
5'9" or shorter, young, energetic, must be a good actor and strong singer,
playing trumpet, trombone, sax, electric guitar, and/or drums a plus but not
required, featured ensemble role, may understudy Frankie Valli;
Barry and Others: 20s-30s, non-Caucasian, strong
character actor-singer-dancer, urban/hip-hop/etc., to play various roles
including DJ, cops, music executives, producers, etc., must have "voice of
steel," tenor belt up to A, with strong and edgy falsetto up to G above high C,
featured ensemble role;
Three Men: 20s-40s, strong actor-singers to
play various roles including friends, producers, etc., baritone or baritenor
voice down to strong low G required for one track, ability to play guitar
required for second track, and ability to play drums (or possibly both guitar
and drums) required for third track, featured ensemble roles;
Mary: 20s-30s, Frankie's wife, tough, "seen
it all" Italian, Jersey girl, has a killer sense of humor, actor also plays a
variety of other roles including a member of a '60s-style girl group, strong
belt a plus, good dancer, high straight tone soprano also a plus but not
required;
Lorraine: 20s-30s, Frankie's girlfriend,
educated, not from Jersey, a real career girl, think a young Diane Sawyer, actor
also plays a variety of other roles including a member of a '60s-style girl
group and a tough-as-nails Jersey girl, strong high belt a plus, belt to high F
extremely useful, high straight tone soprano also a plus but not required, good
dancer;
Francine: 20s-30s, Frankie's daughter who
is named for, doted on, and deeply loved by Frankie, a Jersey girl, vulnerable,
lost, acts out to make up for lack of attention from her dad, actor also plays a
variety of other roles including a member of a '60s-style girl group and a
tough-as-nails Jersey girl, strong high belt a plus, belt to high F extremely
useful, high straight tone soprano also a plus but not required, good dancer.
Note: Seeking male and female dancers who sing extremely well for all roles; the
ensemble will understudy the principals. Dancers and singers of all races and
ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to attend this call.
Equity chorus call will be held June 5 at 1:30
p.m. (male dancers;
sign-in at 1 p.m.) & 3:30 p.m. (female dancers; sign-in at 3 p.m.) at Fern Adair Conservatory of the Arts, 3265 E.
