Casting for a National Independent Film

May 4, 2009

Casting for Missing Pieces , an Independent Feature Film directed by Kenton Bartlett and Jonathan Artuo as Cinematographer.

Missing Pieces is a suspense-drama with a multi-fascited narrative structure that culminates in the abduction of Bartlett's two main characters, Maggie and Daylen . The two unsuspecting victims are put through a series of test by kidnapper David .

The film offers a unique experience to actors wanting to get a foot in the cinematic-door. Missing Pieces is a ten week project (2 weeks rehearsal and 8 week shoot) which will feature extravagant locations all over Northern America. Bartlett and Artuo intend on shooting in remote locations that range from desolate plains to snow capped mountains. Each location becomes part of the unpredictable labyrinth the kidnapper David imposes on his two victims. Missing Pieces serves as an alternative to the regular internship; Just like internships the film is an unpaid position, BUT offers the opportunity to accelerate your career in the film industry as Missing Pieces will be produced and distributed at a first-class level.

The director, Kenton Bartlett, is an American University graduate that has worked on a handful of short, experimental films circulating in the Washington DC nuance scene. As he has learned in the past, the reason independent films are often over-looked by the public is due to the quality of film itself, and not because of narrative creativity. Thus, the filmmaker is investing the majority of the film's budget to purchasing equipment worthy of Spielberg's standards. As Missing Pieces has started gaining public and economic interest, companies such as Samsung, Venus Puzzle and Kino Flo have joined the team in partial sponsorship.

So, what's left? YOU!

If you are interested in auditioning for a part in Kenton Bartlett's Missing Pieces go to http://www.kentonbartlett.com/casting/info/

This site will give you more information on how to Auditon, etc.

Let Craze know if they are interested in you!!

“Lawnmower”
Open on a guy in his late 30s. He’s exiting the front door of his suburban
home. It looks like any regular street USA. He walks across his front yard,
which looks to be slightly overgrown.

Next we see him walk into his next-door neighbor’s driveway. The garage
door is open and his neighbor is standing there with a lawnmower. His
neighbor is about the same age as him.

Guy: So this is it?

Neighbor: Yep, I clean it up and it runs like a champ.

Our guy looks it over and gives a nod of approval.

Guy: Seems like a good deal for $75, okay if I write you a check?

Neighbor: Sure, I know where you live.
They both chuckle politely at the bad joke.

Our guy quickly fills out the check and hands it to the neighbor. The
neighbor smiles and then looks at the check to make sure everything is in
order. He then has a confused look on his face.

Cut to a close-up of the check. The dollar amount is right but the check has
picture of a cat on it. The neighbor just looks at the guy and can’t believe it.

Our guy thinks nothing is wrong. (He may even look over to his house and
wave at his cat that is sitting in the window.)

SUPER: THE WORLD NEEDS MORE CAT GUYS.
