Boise/Nampa Theatre Auditions

APRIL 13 -- Encore Theatre Company will be holding auditions for "Romeo and Juliet", 6:30pm at the Hispanic Cultural Center on Garrity Blvd in Nampa.

All ages are welcome. Please prepare one 30-60 monologue, memorized. If you have always wanted to be in a Shakespeare play, but the language is too intimidating, there are many smaller walk-on parts. Just come to the audition "as-you-are".

In this hilarious comedy by the author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo, two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania.

When they hear that an old lady in York, PA, is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long-lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren't nephews, but nieces! Romantic entanglements abound, especially when Leo falls head-over-petticoat in love with the old lady's vivacious niece, Meg, who's engaged to the local minister. Meg knows that there's a wide world out there, but it's not until she meets "Maxine and Stephanie" that she finally gets a taste of it.

Chloe- Chloe is an 18 year-old and College Freshmen. She meets and has a romantic relationship with Jonny. She’s an independent Woman who is excited about life. She has a fairly good idea of what she wants from life, but is still uncertain of who she is.
 
Dean- Dean is a 22 year-old College Senior. He’s majoring in communication with a minor in photography. He loves his camera and comics. He’s an adorable Nerd who takes his obsessions, including Chloe, seriously.

Jonny Jonny is a 25 year-old college student. Initially he is wealthy, suave and a gentleman to the core. He died in the 1950s and is in a state of suspended development. As a ghost he goes through cycles of Women he becomes obsessed with and driving them to death.

Star- Star is in her late 20s or early 30s. She owns her own smoke shop. She is Chloe’s friend, mentor and boss. As a hippie she can be laid back, but as a feminist she can be angry. As a friend she is loyal, dependable and sarcastic.

Alexis- Another 18-year old College Freshman, Alexis is Chloe’s roommate. She is bubbly and bright. Alexis is high energy and immature. She’s gone a little crazy with being on her own for the first time, but is a good hearted person and friend.

Annie- In 1973, Annie is a very mature 19 year-old college freshman. She knows exactly what she wants and how to get it. Jonny is stalking her.

Curt- Curt is the kind of guy who knows everybody on campus and everybody knows him. He thinks of himself as an elitist. He says he knows exactly what he wants, but his actions indicate he’s uncertain of himself. Curt is a 22 year-old college senior.

Dr. Koontz- A highly intelligent scholar, Dr. Koontz speaks over everyone heads both literally and metaphorically. He always looks a little lost in part because of his scruffy appearance. He is about 60.

McHotty Hot- McHotty is a stereotypical college jock between 21 and 25. McHotty is Alexis make-out buddy.

Jeff Johnson ADVANCED SCENE STUDY ** tuesday nights **, Utah

Jeff Johnson has given us the dates for the next session for his Scene Study Workshop.
 
Please note, this is an advanced class, talent should already have training and be prepared to take on new material the first night of class.
 
For the purpose of this class they are asking that Talent only register if they are prepared to be in class all four weeks, the first night all Talent will be paired up with a scene partner and be given a scene, by missing a class it effects your scene partner.

F Promo Models 18-30 needed for Events, NAMPA, IDAHO!!!

An Event Staffing Company is looking for extremely attractive Female Promo Models, 18- 30 with great physiques. 
 
Must be VERY outgoing, energetic, and comfortable in front of a crowd. Models/Staff will be posing in Photos with consumers as well as getting up on stage, dancing, creating excitement among the crowd, throwing t-shirts into the crowd, etc.
 
You must be comfortable with these duties!!!
 
The Events will be held Friday, April 3- Sunday, April 5 at the Idaho Center in Nampa Idaho.
 
Shifts are late afternoon/evening. Pay is $16- $18/hr.
 
You will need to have blue jeans, A BLACK TANK TOP, and black cowboy boots. A branded black leather vest and black leather chaps will be provided on site. (This is a WESTERN inspired event! If you don't have black cowboy boots, you will need to wear something similar, that is Western inspired.)

UPDATE.....BOISE Short Film Opportunity, Male Boy and Adult

Additional parts available for Short Film Casting...
 
Local Boise Film Director is getting close to Casting for his new Film Project. There will be pay based upon distribution.
 
The Film will be shot in the Boise area. Copy, Credit, and Meals will be provided, plus pay upon distribution. The Film is a fun, crazy Comedy entitled It's a Trip Presents: The Not So Great Sasquatch Hunt. This will be the first of a series of Short Films/Tv Pilot leading up to a full Feature.  
 
This Short will be 30-45 min. The initial Film will be entered into many Festivals and they are expecting major distribution (already in talks). This is going to be a great project for anyone who wants a Resume builder and/or a chance to be apart of something truly special. 
 
Additional parts they are looking to Cast:
5-year-old Boy
A Male Actor to play a Redneck type, "Preacher"
 
This Film will contain some foul language & drug references. But there is NO sex or nudity.
