Murray Arts Council will be presenting Nunsense A-men April 16-22. This all male show is a great show and wonderful opportunity. All roles are cast except Sister Amnesia (we keep forgetting her) Come join our talented cast and excellent pro team! First auditions will be by email. Nolan Mitchell is directing and Jann LeVitre is choreographing. Other cast members are Shelby Maughn, Brian Gardner, Kurt Christensen and Kyle Allen.

Wild Horse Children’s Theater is looking for actors, singers and dancers, ages 5 and up, for its spring productions of Disney’s “101 Dalmatians, Kids” and “Beauty & the Beast, Jr.”

Auditions — by appointment only — will be on Thursday, Jan. 15, and Saturday, Jan. 17, in the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall on King Street. Callbacks for “Beauty and the Beast” will be on Sunday, Jan. 18.

Auditioners are asked to bring a short, one-minute-or-less song with accompaniment on tape or CD that showcases vocal ability. The piece should not include background vocals. Auditioners will also be taught a dance, so comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Participants are asked to arrive early to fill out forms.

“101 Dalmatians, Kids” is based on the classic animated film. The musical will be cast with actors ages 5-14. Performances are March 13-22 at the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall.

“Beauty & the Beast, Jr.” includes all of the songs from the film, plus new songs written for the Broadway version. The musical will be cast with actors ages 5 and up, with performances set for June 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14 in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center.

Actors are welcome to audition and perform in both shows. An audition and dance workshop offered is set for Tuesday, Jan. 13. Wild Horse Children’s Theater strongly encourages actors auditioning for “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” to attend.

Rehearsals, which start at the end of January, will be held from 4:15 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays for “101 Dalmatians, Kids” and from 6:15 -8:p.m. for “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” After “101 Dalmatians, Kids” opens in March, rehearsals for “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” will be from 4:15-6:30 p.m. for the remainder of the rehearsal period.

Frequency of rehearsals and specific time commitment varies with each role; not everyone will be required to be at every rehearsal, but those auditioning will be asked to list any rehearsal conflicts.

Assisted by her best chum, the madcap Trixie Martin, our plucky heroine undergoes a number of tribulations including possible expulsion! By always being honourable and straight, things come right in the end with Daisy saving the life of her arch-enemy, sneaky Monica, discovering the hidden treasure of Grangewood, scoring the winning goal at hockey and finding her long-lost father! In the vein of Nancy Drew, a scrummy treat for the whole family!

We are currently in casting for the short film, Good At Heart, which tells the story of Hannah Pick Goslar and Anne Frank.

Good At Heart will be directed by Sally Meyer and Ali Barr of Five One Films.

All roles are paid.

Right now we are specifically looking for girls age 16-18 to look 16.

 Must be thin, with dark hair and brown eyes, (no exceptions)
