Heim House Productions is casting two short comedic films, Silent Suspect and Routine Engagement. Silent Suspect is a comedy about an oddball deputy who pulls out all the stops to get a suspect to confess. Routine Engagement
is a darkly comedic inside look at the offstage internal dynamics of an
up-and-coming rock band. James A. Heim & Thomas Sims, prods.
Shooting early- to mid April in Las Vegas, NV.
Silent Suspect—Deputy Mitchell: male, mid 20s-mid 40s, any ethnicity, clueless, child-like, odd, reckless, think Thomas Lennon, Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, comedy/improve skills are a plus; Detective Jones: male or female, mid 20s-mid 40s, any ethnicity, well kept, attractive, looks like a seasoned detective; Suspect: male, mid 20s-mid 40s, any ethnicity, rough around the edges, messy and scruffy, looks like a criminal, knowledge of sign language a plus, Interpreter: male or female, any age, any ethnicity, friendly, helpful, cooperative, knowledge of sign language a plus.
Routine Engagement—Collin: male, male, mid- to late 20s, bassist, protagonist, kind, slightly naïve, attractive; Joeb: male, mid- to late 20s, singer/guitarist, arrogant, womanizing, dominating, massive ego, guitar skills are a plus; Ian: male, late 20s-early 30s, drummer, Collin's voice of reason, hard working, humble, sharp, experienced; Mitch: male, 20s, guitarist, fun Loving, easy going, indifferent, messy, comedy skills are a plus; Sam & David: males, 20s, best buds, superfans of the band, over-the-top rock and metal lovers, comedy skills are a plus; Kevin: male, 30s, a journalist for a rock n'roll magazine, excited to interview his favorite rock band; Nicole: female, late 20s-early 30s, Joeb's clueless girlfriend, fast talking, kind, annoying, an aging valley girl, comedy skills helpful; Sarah: female, early 20s, Collin's love interest, a respectable college girl with a kind personality.
Auditions will be held March 16 & 18, 1-6 p.m. at The Coffee Bean, Private Meeting Room, 4550 S Maryland Pkwy., Las Vegas, NV. Auditions will be first-come, first-served. Auditioners may confirm their attendance by emailing jamesah108@aol.com, but it is not required. Be prepared to improvise; no sides. Auditions will be taped.
