Audition Notice:
The Complete works of William Shakespeare 'Abridged'
Directed by: Daniel B. Kaminsky
mrdanielbkaminsky@gmail.com
(435-730-5207)
Audition Date/Time: Thursday January 27, 6:30pm-9:00pm; Saturday January 29,
9:00am-11:00am,
(Call backs if needed: Saturday January 29
11:00am-Noon)
Synopsis: Three lovable yet slightly misguided actors, grab
hold of the audience and take them on a roller-coaster ride through all 37 of
the Bard's works in 97 minutes. Using a slightly "abridged" fashion they present
them in a new and unusual ways such as cooking shows, football games,
performance art, and rap music. Join them as they discuss some of the "deeper"
contexts and history of William Shakespeare, and prove to the world once and for
all that Shakespeare isn't only funny, but really funny, and can be as much for
the "Common Man" as he is for "Culturally Elite."
Performance Dates:
April 15 - May 7, Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, with a 2:00pm
matinee on April 23.
Auditioners should come prepared; with a short
"humorous" monologue, to read from the script, and participate in some
improv.
Cast: All actors cast in this production will first play
"themselves" followed by various and multiple characters from the works of
William Shakespeare.
3-Speaking Parts are available for this production,
they can be men or women or both. So don't be afraid to come and audition based
on what you might have heard about this show. A fourth non-speaking role may be
cast to help act as assistant stage manager and props handler during the run of
the show.
Directors Note: This is a fun fast paced production that lends itself to actor freedom and creativity normally not found in other shows. As cast and crew members you will develop bonds and memories in ways never before imagined. One of the things I will be looking for as a director will not only be amazing talent, but the ability to work & play well with others, and a willingness to let yourself explore your talents and abilities in new and unusual ways.
Thanks,
Craze Agency
