The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
By: Barbara Robinson
A young mother struggling to put on a church
Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman’s —the meanest kids in town,
maybe even the most awful kids in the history of the world! The Herdman’s are
bullies who lie, steal, smoke, cuss and generally create havoc in their
neighborhood. When the Herdman’s are told that cookies are given to children at
Sunday School, they decide to come to church – on the day the Christmas pageant
parts were being assigned and they are cast in the show – all six of them! The
congregation is just shocked – this is sure to be the worst Christmas pageant
ever! But sometimes compassion and generosity come from the most unexpected
places. And soon the whole church, including parents, teachers, and children
rediscover the true meaning of Christmas. Pandemonium abounds in this fun and
hilarious holiday tale when the Herdman’s collide with the Christmas story head
on!
