reading and improv.

Utah Contemporary Theatre, the nation’s only free
professional theatre company, in conjunction with The Grand Theatre, Salt
Lake Acting Company, Plan B Theatre, Pygmalion, Dark Horse, Meat and Potato
Theatre, The New Works Theatre Machine and Junction City Theatre Company
(other theatres TBA), are pleased to announce local 2010/2011 season auditions
for a variety of readings, one acts, full productions, musicals and workshops.
Auditioners should prepare 1 or 2 contrasting contemporary monologues totaling less than three minutes or one 1-2minute contemporary monologue and one 16-32 bar musical selection, an accompanist will be provided.
Auditions will be held August 23rd 2010 from 12:00pm-6:00pm at The Rose Wagner Studio Theatre, 138 West 300 South, by appointment only.

AEA-only auditions will be from 5:00pm-6:00pm but AEA members may sign up
for any time slot. Non-AEA auditioners may audition from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
All theatres participating are seeking a diverse company of actors and are committed to equal-opportunity employment and a flexible, non-traditional casting policy.

West Jordan Theater Arts and the
Sugar Factory Playhouse announce auditions for "Robin Hood: The Legendary
Comedy", this Saturday, August 21 from 10 am to 2 pm at West Jordan City Hall,
8000 South Redwood Road, third floor.
Auditioners should be over 18 years of age, able to sing a bit and not be afraid of dancing. We just want people to play everything bigger than life. Come prepared to read from the script and have a good time. The dates and location have not yet been determined, sometime in September or October. The show is directed by Bob Bedore.
Robin Hood – The hero
Sheriff of Nottingham — The villain
Sir Guy of Gisbourne – The sidekick... The buffoon. British accent, cockney likely.
Shiek Hugh Boote – French Arab Sheik. Not sure what that accent is... He’s a real ladies man and a bad guy.
Little John – Good guy, should be big.
Friar Tuck — Good guy.
Maid Marion – the ingénue. Should be pretty, Robin’s love interest.
Lady Clydsdale — Could be anything, is usually a larger woman.
Various Parts — Played by one person.
