The Driftwood Players is casting The Miracle Worker, a play based on the true story about the life of Helen Keller. Teresa Thuman, dir. Rehearsals begin mid-Nov. 2010; runs Feb. 4-20, 2011 at the Wade James Theatre in Edmonds, WA.

Kate Keller: 20+, Helen Keller's mother, a young, Southern gentlewoman;
 
Helen Keller: 8+, a blind, deaf, and mute child, should appear young for age, very physical role including combat and physical expression;
 
Aunt Evie: 35+, Captain Keller’s sister, a Southern spinster gentlewoman;
 
Annie Sullivan: 20+, a formerly blind, strong-willed teacher, very physical role;
 
Viney: 35+, a housekeeper/servant for the Keller household;
 
Martha: 10+, daughter of servant;
 
Captain Keller: 40+, the rebellious son of Captain Keller and his first wife;
 
Doctor : 35+, a Southern gentleman;
 
Dr. Anagnos: 40+, Annie’s teacher and mentor, a Greek Doctor from the Northeast;
 
Percy: 8+, the boy child of a servant who lives on the property;
 
Jimmie: 6+, Annie’s brother, mostly a recorded voice;
 
Boys & Girls: 6-12, other blind children in the school.
