Auditions for the Sandy Arts Guild’s production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” will be held on Thursday, December 8 from 7-8:30 PM at Sandy Parks and Rec, 440 East 8680 South, Room 204.  Laura Bedore Heugly is the director.  Rehearsals will start in January.  The show will perform February 17, 18, 20, 24, 25 and 27. 

To sign up for an audition time and to get character descriptions, please go to www.sandyarts.com , and click on the “Arsenic and Old Lace” window.   Come prepared to read from the script; bring a photo and resume.  All parts are open, though some parts will be cast for one actor in multiple parts.  Cast will consist of 3 women:  two "elderly" ladies 50+ in years, one woman 20- 30's, and 10 men ages 29 to early 70's.

"Arsenic and Old Lace" is a farcical black comedy revolving around Mortimer Brewster, a drama critic, who must deal with his crazy, homicidal family while avoiding the local police in Brooklyn. Since insanity runs rampant in his family, Mortimer must decide whether to go through with his promise to marry the woman he loves. His family includes two spinster aunts who have taken to murdering lonely old men by poisoning them with a glass of home-made elderberry wine, a brother who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt, and an even worse brother who has just received plastic surgery to look like Boris Karloff.
