Casting Notice for Web Series “Proper Manors”

Seeking actors for a new Web Soap created by Pietro D’Alessio. The story centers on a group of teenagers and their families. Many lead parts are still available as well as supporting roles. This is a character breakdown for many roles for the soap opera. Some will work in later episodes. We will begin casting focusing initially on the lead and supporting roles and anticipate bi-weekly casting sessions until complete.

Important Information:

“Proper Manors” is intended to be a 22-min. Weekly web soap opera. 

SAG New Media paperwork is currently pending on the project and we will be fully signatory by the time we begin production.  (100/day) – Possibly deferred – but you will know this prior to shooting and it will be in a deal memo/contract.

Many of the lead characters will be “on contract” meaning that, if cast, we must know what is going on with you.  The project (in essence a TV series for the web) will be shooting weekly – mostly on weekends  but there may be exceptions.

Every character has been developed to be a part of the tapestry in the town of Proper, USA.  Even the smallest roles can develop into front burner story lines and lead characters can be written out any time.  The show is intended for a mature audience and would probably be categorized as TV-M (Mature Audiences).

There is NO nudity nor will we be using the F-bomb, however there will be other profanity occasionally and adult situations.  The characters on the soap, much like the real world, are diverse – all ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations and political persuasions.  We will not modify characters based on actor's moral or religious input as the characters themselves “live” in a different world and everything, loosely based on reality, is fictional.  Of course, the characters will be evolving/developing and changing based on what they experience as a character living in Proper.  Any familiarity of any person living or dead is purely coincidental.

MELODY WALDEN (Supporting)—37, Tall, thin, blonde, perfect mom and socialite, spends her days shopping, doing yoga, hiking, buying/selling stocks, dabbling in the stock market and mentoring/nurturing her kids and being a surrogate mom to their friends. Kind, gentle, tough, honest and doesn’t believe in airing dirty laundry/family secrets and issues in public.

NICKI (Recurring) – Italian American/Latino, Male, 30-50, Lead Chef, Loyal, Family Man

JULES TEAKWOOD - 18, Spoiled rotten, Church going, Daddy's girl in the middle of every social group, Loves her gay boys and her girlfriends, Full-figured, always has an idea or a perspective about what is happening with someone.

HILLARY CAMPBELL (Supporting) – 16/17, oldest of three daughters, perfect student, sarcastic wit, intellectually advanced to the point where many adults are easily intimidated by her. Other adults are drawn to her as an inspiration. 

GRACE CAMPBELL (Supporting) – 15/16, middle of three daughters, flirtatious, fit, and always seeking an adventure and a more interesting/mysterious or experienced man. She can’t be bothered with boys who seem to only want to do what the average teen boy does. She sees a future filled with travel.

SARAH CAMPBELL (Recurring) – 13/14, youngest of three daughters, spoiled, lazy, goofy sense of humor, has a strong compass about what is right/wrong and there is no middle ground. Quick to love and quick to get angry, she is much tougher than anyone realizes. She loves her family, her parents and animals. Would spend all day cooking and watching TV is she could in the future. She is very intelligent and well-liked yet not as ambitious as he older sisters are to change the world.

ARIA MORENA CAMPBELL (Supporting) – 36, former housekeeper turned paraprofessional, Mexican activist, highly involved in her children’s lives, always busy and on the go, works hard to protect her children. Loves to escape with cinema, a gourmet meal or someplace filled with beauty.

MARIE SORRENTO (Supporting) – 15-17, blonde, attractive, spoiled drama queen, feels entitled to what others have, has a self-inflated sense of entitlement due to her upbringing. Really is quite funny and endearing yet can’t sometimes see the truth due to the alternate worlds of reality she creates with the assistance and reassurance of her mom.

ARGUS WALDEN (Recurring) – 17, Loves music and politics, popular in a nerdy sort of way with other kids in his social circle at school. Incredibly wealthy but not condescending about his wealth and the opportunities they afford him. Blonde, possibly pre-balding, polite.

FREDERICK CHRISTOPHERSON (Recurring) – 17, red haired, freckles, a lion in sheep’s clothing, plays the perfect teen to adults while secretly manipulating younger girls and situations to his benefit. Arrogant, socially distant, gains trust easily.

SAMANTHA BRIGHTMAN (Recurring) – 17-19, Brunette, petite to average shape, polite, kind.  Comes from a prominent family.  Popular, student council/beauty queen type.  Respected and admired by peers.

MIKE B.  18/19 - Brown/Dirty Blonde/Tan/Average to Good shape - not real bright, stoner, takes a few moments to understand what's going on - very 1970's feel

DARLA T. 17-19 - average looking, average height to tall, thin - sickly but still appears healthy, big smile, freckles , exudes nice girl

DEBBIE C. - Redhead, loves country music, church, super nice girl, long hair, friendly, freckles

MARK C. - 17-19 - dark hair/eyes, honor student, average to good shape, very friendly, religious, honest -

MARY W. - 17-19 Full figured queen diva who knows everyone and everything, OLD $$, always the latest fashions and accessories, has the power to decide who does or doesn't make it to the cool parties. Uber loyal to her friends, easily hurt, easily angered - not one to piss off.

MICHELLE T. - 17-19 Tan, Dark brown/black hair, brown eyes, super intelligent, loves older boys/country boys and her friends, doesn't take any BS, tough - loves to gossip but don't cross her friends.

SOPHIE T. - 17-19 Quiet and unassuming, a classic royal beauty, Greek descent, intelligent, peaceful, a smile that can calm and light up a room.
 
DAVY M.- 17-19 - shorter, old money, brown hair, latest fashions, skater/surfer/stoner - the nicest guy that everyone loves. Trying to find his place in the world.

MIKE E. 17-19 - Big build, quiet, troubled, loyal, honest and protective, makes mistakes but has a huge heart and will always be there for his friends - new kid in town (even 7 years in) trying to make connections that matter, very competitive, working class parents

JULIE E. - 14-16  - Blonde/Blue eyes, petite, pretty, everyone's little sister, as comfortable being a cheer leader as a scholar - very sensitive, doesn't take BS, values her friends, loves her family.

RUSSELL G.-  16-19 - The eclectic Boy George/Morrisey wannabe - long flowing hair, mascara, sexually ambiguous and confident - understands and loves the misfits and makes them all his own family.

FRANKIE H. - 16-18 - The all American surfer/skater that EVERYONE loves - doesn't have an enemy or a detractor. Gorgeous blonde flowing slightly curly hair and blue eyes. sometime stoner, always a lover, honest, loves and accepts everyone. Good looking, tan

SEAN H.  16-18 - Petite brunette with dark eyes and an amazing smile. Has just enough redneck in her to put any man (or woman) in their proper place.

JODI B. 15-18 - Brunette, average to slightly full-figured, infectious laugh, the go to when there is a crisis who always has an answer  even if it's not within the rules, dark eyes, million dollar smile - can go from punk to honor student in no time at all.

DAVID R. 17-18, All American Jock and Scholar with the slightest intellectual edge. Tan, fit and involved in every sport. The quiet popular boy that holds his click together. Kind-hearted, beautiful soul, glasses, brown wavy hair.

CURREY G. 17-18 - The future NFL Quarterback and All-American Good Ole Boy - Blonde/dirty blonde - green/blue/hazel eyes - super fit, jock, quiet, friendly

SHERI H. - 17-18, Blonde, petite, beautiful, tough - some people think she's an airhead - others know she is super knowledgeable. Quiet country girl with a wild streak but loves her family and friends - the least troublesome of the troubling popular girls - Quiet with an intellectual sense of humor - slightly more mature on many levels than her peers.

KATY S. - 17-18, Dirty blonde with long flowing curls and a body that can snap a boy in half, yet is very feminine and soft. She's a cheerleader and a wholesome country girl who laughs, loves and doesn't judge. Super loyal to her friends and a great student.

SHANNON P. - 17-18 - Intellectual redhead with a temper who can quickly take anyone down who makes her uncomfortable. Sensitive, a swan who hides her looks but wows a room when she wants to - super intelligent, freckles and an amazing smile. Loyal to her friends and is old money/old school when it comes to knowing the politics of Proper.
