AVON LADY: (20s to 40s) Striking looking, poised, graceful and feminine, with the
bright, cheery exterior demeanor of a winning and successful Avon Lady of 1963. But
she has the ability to turn on a dime and reveal a secret side that is calculating,
powerful, controlled and controlling. Sharp with language, with towering intelligence

SIMMONS (30s to 50s) Heavyset, imposing physical presence and a strong self of
confidence in himself and his work. Straight talker who doesn’t suffer fools gladly, he
has the wry wit of someone who has spent a lifetime in conflict with the system.

MRS. HESS: (75+) Frail, frightened senior citizen living in a house she believes to be
haunted. Sweet and sincere, with a strong sense of morality and uprightness.

BUD HESS: (mid‐40s) in fairly good shape, with thin hair and a pencil thin mustache, a
flair for the theatrical, vain, egotistical, petty, feisty.

PETE GILCHRIST (15)(can be 18 to play 15 but not required)) charming, handsome, mirthful 9th grade
boy who is quick with his sly smile and likes to flirt. A good guy, but with a yen for pretty
girls.(make sure he looks 15 yrs old)
