GENERAL CASTING NOTE: All six main characters except Derek must dance act and sing Note that
singing is the least significant of the three
requirements. If an actor is right for a particular
role acting and dancing wise but cannot handle the
singing, his/her singing will be dubbed by another
singer. There are 19 songs in the film and all five main characters participate in almost all of them. PLEASE NOTE: The musical section of the
film, approximately 65% of the film, will be shot
on stage at the Covey Center in Provo, in front
of a live audience. The audience will be part of
the film. That is the part of the film that
will be shot the first two weeks of January. All
of the singing will be lip-synched regardless of who
is singing, be it the actual actor’s voice or
someone else’s. PLEASE NOTE: All roles are
open to all ethnicities. We encourage actor/singer/dancers
of all shapes and sizes and backgrounds.
