The Priesthood Department is trying something new for the Youth: a worldwide interactive broadcast as one of the weekly Youth activities.  This event will consist of discussions with the YM General President Bro. Beck, YW General President Sis. Oscarson, and a well-known LDS recording artist!  Viewers worldwide will have a chance to send questions via Facebook and have them answered by any of the three main speakers.  The recording artist will also be performing a few songs.  The event will be broadcast twice: once in English and once in Spanish.  They intend on doing similar events 4 times a year.

We are casting for youth to “conduct” or “host” the event the way they might conduct a weekly activity—if that activity were a really big deal.  There will be scripted dialogue, but the ideal candidates will be able to improv a little and make the script their own.  They will open and close the event and have an opportunity to interact with the main speakers, including the well-known recording artist.

 

WHO

1 English and 1 Spanish speaking Young Woman

1 English and 1 Spanish speaking Young Man

Applicants should be or look like they are between the ages of 12 and 18.  They should be comfortable speaking in front of people.  Experience in hosting is not necessary, but poise and personality are a must.

The Spanish speakers must be very authentic and native.  We want to avoid those whose Spanish is more “Spanglish.”

 

WHEN

Auditions: Monday, June 9th 1pm-4pm.  You must sign up for an audition time slot.

Shoot: June 24th with another possible day of pre-recording of a portion of the event

 

WHERE

Auditions: LDS Motion Picture Studio; 300 West 2230 North, Provo

Shoot: a Church facility in Salt Lake City

2.        Prepare the attached script.  It does not need to be memorized, but you should feel very confident with it so that your personality will shine in your delivery.  “YM” are the boy’s lines and “YW” are the girl’s lines.

a.       Currently, we only have an English version of the script.  Spanish speakers are welcome to audition in English or do their own translation and audition in Spanish.  If a Spanish script becomes available, I will forward it on.

Please do not publicize this audition.  For the sake of the well-known recording artist, we want to keep this under wraps.  Thank you for your discretion.

Applicants must be temple worthy members of the LDS Church and eligible to work in the United States.
