We are casting a very exciting project, “The First Christmas,” produced by the Publishing Services Department of the LDS Church.  

To begin, we would like to concentrate on the casting of “JOSEPH.”  This story will be told from his perspective and most of the 3-5 minute video will ride on his performance.  

JOSEPH: Who we’re looking for…

Male, somewhere between 25-35 years old.  Applicants must have a solid background in acting (either for theatre or film).  He should definitely have “the middle-eastern look,” (ie: olive skin, dark-eyes, dark hair, and appropriate bone-structure).  It is a plus if the actor has a bit of length on his hair, although acting ability and performance will always win-out over great hair for this role.  His beard will be laid.

YOUNG JESUS:  Who we’re looking for…

Basically, if he looks and sounds like a 12-year-old boy, that’s great.  Acting ability will be the key to landing this role.  I highly recommend applicants memorize the side and come well-prepared to “Wow” us at the audition.  (Also must be temple-worthy LDS.)
In addition to needing a truly sterling actor for this role, we also need him to come with his own “longish” hair.  (Wigs on twelve-year-olds just don’t work very well.)  We are willing to dye it, if he is willing, so the racial constraints for this role are a little less stringent.

LDS:  All applicants must be active, temple-worthy members of the LDS Church.

WHEN:  These auditions will take place in 5-minute intervals from 9:00 am. – 6:00 pm., next Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013.
